C Agajanian TORNADO PLAYS EUREKA TONIGHT; FRONT WALL SAID LOGGER WEAKNESS Information on the Eureka High school Logger arrived in the morning mail from Al Tos tado, sports editor of the Hum boldt Times. Medford's unbeaten, once tied Black Tornado plays the Eureka football aggregation ifi the California city tonight. Tostado regards the Tornado a three-touchdown favorite but says that "Eureka could pick this one as a heck ot a time to jell and come through with an upset." He stated that the Logger backs make hometown fans hope but that the line makes them "know better." He then says, "But I think it only fair to warn you that our Big Four conference elevens have not lost a prep lntersectional as yet this year." The Loggers have had an in-and-out season. Despite the fact it's felt the Eureka line is its major weakness, the bright spots for the Californians this year are in the forward wall. Ron Moore at guard and Bill Nichols at tackle have stood out in their play on the right side of the wall. Both were all-conference last year. Rest of the line, Tos tado says, is not up to Logger standards of previous seasons. Weak at Quarter Eureka's backfield has good speed but is weak at quarter back, an important spot in split T offensive. Dennis Giuntini and Jack McHenry share the chores. Halfback Ron Peterson is a good straight ahead run ner and has speed. Errol Scott at fullback is re ported as overweight and with out the speed and power he had as an all-loop performer in 1955. Halfback Larry Sullivan has speed and power and does some passing but may miss ac tion because of a knee bruise. Jerry Olsen, a good runner from half and full, is a tough line backer. The Loggers also could spring Jerry Long, a 128-pound senior, on the Tornado. Medford takes the field to night aiming to uphold prestige as Oregon's No. 2 ranked club. Mnn&TiiBmi SIPdDDSTTS ST. MARY'S GRIDDERS TAKE ON TALENT HIGH IN IMPORTANT TUSSLE Talent High school's Bull dogs will go all out tonight for a title clinching football victory while St. Mary's of Medford will be scrapping to keep in the running for its third consecu tive Jackson County B league championship. The two schools collide at 8 p.m. at the Medford Senior high stadium. A Talent triumph gives it the B loop toga with an undefeated record. A St. Mary's win would leave the Crusaders the lone unmarred club in the circuit but the Bulldogs would remain in contention of the title. Tonight's game winds up the regular coference schedule for Talent but St. Mary's still has Rogue River to play. Both schools take forfeit wins from Prospect which dropped from WINTER SERVICE SPECIAL 1. Pressure test radiator and hoses for leaks. 2. Install one gallon of Zerex or Prestone. 3. The scores are an indication of close battle in the crucial game with morale possibly be ing the deciding factor.
