(U.R) The "line hog," who holds those never-ending conversations on the telephone party line while fel low line users fret and fume, hai been the object of considerable research by California telephone men. Many devices have been used, including that of automatically breaking calls at eight minutes (a practice used in the small farming community of Farming ton). But the best general solution to the problem is "education," say telephone men. This education takes the form of letters explaining good party line usage or a telephone call to each party on the line. "Line hogging" is a special problem in California's farming areas, so much so that the Cal ifornia Farm Bureau Federation, urged at its annual meeting last November that the problem be brought to- the attention of party line users everywhere. Motion on Legality Of Jury Dismissed Portland -r U.R) A motion which questioned legality of the grand jury which completed a nine-week investigation with series of indictments here was denied yesterday by Presiding Judge Frank J. Lonergan. If the motion had been grant ed it would have nullified the grand jury's indictments. The action was filed by James M. Hafey, a Portland attorney, on behalf of a client awaiting grand jury action on a statuatory rape charge. He argued the jury was improperly drawn because it did not take names from both the assessment rolls and the vo ter registration books. Judge Lonergan ruled that statutes per mit drawing of jury lists from assessment rolls and voter" reg istration books, or from either. Nevada Sportsmen May Hunt Wild Pigs . Las Vegas, Nev.
