CAN 3 FOR 59 Task Force Struggles Through Icy Water To Supply Dewline Seattle (U.R) A 56-ship task force carrying 6800 men is making its way through icy wa ters off Point Barrow, Alaska, this week carrying supplies to dewline radar stations across the top of the continent. Towner hopes to get out earl ier this year and has set Sept. 15 as a target-date for return to Seattle. , Demos Will Start Balloting Thursday Chicago , (U.R) Delegates to the Democratic National Con vention will start balloting for the party's 1956 presidential nominee shortly after 9 a.m. (PST) Thursday, Aug. 16. The party's National Commit tee announced that balloting is scheduled to continue in the night session, beginning shortly after 5 p.m. (PST). The windup of the entire convention is slated for Friday night, Aug. 17, after speeches by the presidential nominee and former President Truman. 'Delegates will vote for the vice presidential nominee in the Friday day session. The report of the Resolutions and Platform committee, which is in session throughout the pres ent preconvention week, is slat ed for the night session of Aug. 15. There will be daily sessions beginning- 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (PST) each day Monday through Friday, except Wednesday when only a night session is scheduled. But we'H need sood luck." he added.
