WATSON Shady Cove-Trail Mrs. John Wilson of Shady Cove is now convalescing at home following major surgery July 23 in Sacred Heart hospital in Medford and Is progressing satisfactorily. Mrs. James Lowery of Shady Cove has also returned to her home after an appendicitis oper ation last week by Dr. Fergu son of Shady Cove at the Osteo pathic clinic in Medford. She has a friend, Mrs. Zena Allen of Ashland, mother of Dave Allen Of Shady Cove, staying with her. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bentley of Trail have moved from the cabin they were renting from Mrs. Thelma Peinning to Medford where he is employed. Max Siemes of Trail was a visitor Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Watson of Shady Cove. Max is planning a six months trip to Eu rope and his itinerary will in clude Belgium, Antwerp and Western Germany. He recently sold his home to Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tuttle and family of Shady Cove. Mrs. Floyd Kelley of Shady Cove has returned home follow ing a trip last week to Newport, Ore., and on down the coast to Smith River, Calif. She made the trip with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. M. Madsen and daughter, Helen, who are visit ing the Kelley's from St. Louis, Mo.; "her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jantzer of Central Point, and the Jantzer's granddaughter. Karyn Jantzer of White City. A friend, Edwin Geb hardt of Central Point also ac companied them. Mr. and Mrs. Athel Dudley of Shady Cove Cleaners have re turned from a two weeks vaca tion trip. They went first to Yel lowstone Park with Mr. Dudley's nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Cross of Taft, Ore. At Yel lowstone they met Mrs. Dudley's cousin and husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Homer of Emmets burg, Iowa. The Homers accom panied them on the return trip to Oregon which was made via the Columbia river gorge and Oregon coast and through the Eedwoods. They are visiting with the Dudley's and Tom Quail families for a few days in Shady Cove. The Homers accom panied the Dudley's Sunday to Redmond, Ore., where they at tended the Rader family re union at the home of Mrs. Dud ley's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wilson, and saw Mrs. Dudley's father, G. N. Rader. Mr. and Mrs. John Fleeger and son of Medford were guests Sun day of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Vin cent of Shady Cove. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Pike of Los Molinas, Calif., have been house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wil mer Ragsdale of Shady Cove. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Springer of El Monte, Calif., are spending a week vacationing at the Shady Cove Motel. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blaar of Medford entertained at their home last week honoring the joint birthdays of Frank Blaar and Dick Bartuss of Shady Cove. Guests were Dr. and Mrs. Verne Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bartuss of Shady Cove: The Rev. and Mrs. Rollo Dunham and daughter, Caroline, and Mrs. Dunham s mother, Mrs. Klegg of North Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. Blaar's aunt, Mrs. Helen Daniell of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Harper of Trail have moved from the house they were renting at the Sierra Manor and have bought the Tony Lillywhite home near Sunset on the Rqgue. The Lilly whites have moved to Medford where they are renting an apart ment at present. Several people have been on fishing trips lately. Walter Cross of Shady Cove made a trip to Fourmile lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Houston of Shady Cove went fishing up Elk creek, and Mr. and Mrs. Reed McKay of Trail made a fishing trip to Hamacher meadows. The Shady Cove-Trail Lions and Ladies auxiliary are holding their annual picnic for members and families Sunday, Aug. 5, at Willow lake above Butte Falls Coffee and pop are furnished by the organization. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dawson and children, Jim and Teddy of Seattle spent a week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Robert Borgert at Rogue-A-Lure, Trail. Dawson is employed by Boeing Aircraft. The Borgerts sre planning to leave about Aug. 1 for Sacra mento and Tucson, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Garmt Zuider weg of Sheldon, Iowa, recently visited their daughter and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Learning, of Shady Cove. While here they made a trip to Diamond lake and held a family reunion at the home of another daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Bor tolazza. at Jacksonville. Glenn Miles of . Medford.. nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Learning, was confined to Com munity hospital last week. Gary Britt of Shady Cove fell while playing and suffered a sprained ankle. Fred Morgan of Trail has been home for sometime now from Community hospital where he underwent surgery and is about over his convalescence. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Her rington and Mr. and Mrs. Nor man Herrington of Modesto. Calif., stopped off en route home from Salt Lake City and Idaho to visit their friends of 25 years standing. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Clark of Big Butte Creek, Trail. Mrs. Leonard Herrington is a registered nurse. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hubbell Jr. of Chicago are visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hubbell Sr., of Trail and his sis ter and family, Mrs. Frank Selto, also of Trail. He is an electrical engineer in Chicago. This past week Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hub bell Jr., Mrs. Grant Hubbel Sr., and Mrs. Frank Selto and chil dren, made a trip to Gold Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kee and daughter, Cecelia of Shady Cove and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Oliver and daughter. Daun Cherie of Lancaster, Calif., went on a pic nic to Union Creek Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Parker of San Francisco have been house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moorhead of Trail. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shoults and children, Frankie, Jackie and JoAnn of Thousand Oaks, Calif., last week visited Shoult s cousin and family, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Spain of Shady Cove. While here the Shoults family, the Spain family and Mrs. Shoult s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson of Medford, went to Oregon Caves. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Colgar of Seattle, Wash., have been house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Spud Hol man of Shady Cove. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wopschall, parents of Max Wopschall, of Multnomah County Fair Opens for 50th Time Gresham (U.R) Gates of Multnomah county fairgrounds opened today, marking- the be ginning of the 50th annual fair. Shady Cove, have returned to their home in Kenaston, Sas katchewan, Canada after a visit with their son and family. - Mr. and Mrs. Herman Henry of Pacoima, Calif., formerly of Shady Cove, have returned to this area and are building a new home at White City. Their son, Lowell and his family are build ing next to them. Both Lowell and Henry are employed at Med ford High school in Medford. Use Tribune Want Ads For Best Results! Leader of Hikers Reported Improving Portland (U.PJ Carl Schnoor, 20-year old Lewis and Clark college student who was guide for a youthful group which slid into a crevasse on Mt. Hood Sunday, was reported improv ing in a local hospital today al though suffering from a broken back and wrist. Most seriously hurt of the 18 young mountain climbers from the east was Suzanne Blum, 16, Baldwin, N. J., who was suffer ing from a broken back and chest injuries. Susan Stein, 16, Baltimore, was reported in im proved condition. Parents of both girls are in Portland..
