Heider, super visor of the Milwaukee health department housing division. Heider, writing in Govern ment Service, a magazine pub lished by the Milwaukee Govern ment Service league, said that in one of the buildings he inspected he found a widow and seven chil dren living in one room. He said there were 37 school children living in that building. He pointed out that it would take a complete schoolroom, with all the accompanying pxpenses, to care for the children from just the one building. He said a complete grade school would have to be provided by the taxpayers if there were eight of these houses. Heider said that the owner of this building paid city property taxes of only S456 a year, hardly enough to provide for the educa tion of the children living in the building. Besides school costs, there are other items like fire and police protection, refuse disposal and health services. "How many houses like this could Milwaukee afford?'' Heid er asked. Mr. Warren will be accom panied by his wife. They will visit Bombay. Calcutta. New Delhi and points of interest throughout the country.
