The family arrived here from Los Angeles after a week's stay in southern California, and left last week by plane for Seattle and Spokane where stops were planned before returning to the mid-west. t ll II : r k w. - J1 1 ? The artist also has ideas for a number of paintings which he will complete for showing in Chicago, where he spends the major part of his time. Mr. Bennett has earned considerable recognition in recent years and his Sicilian village scene "Rain" was exhibited in the Portland Art Museum recently. MedfordTribune SUNDAY, JULY 8, 1956 n the New s By Olive Starcher Newcomers, visitors and former residents home for the summer months have made interesting news in recent days. Among the visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert I. Markham, Chicago, and other members of their family who were guests of the Markham's daughter, Mrs. Leland Clark, and Mr. Clark. The Markhams were widely entertained. Former residents here for the summer include two artists, Eugene Bennett, who divides his time between Chicago and Med ford, and Jack Moran Jr., artist-photographer formerly of this city and now of San Francisco. Mr. Bennett will erect a new studio at his home and will paint in preparation for another one-man show at Mandel's, in Chicago next fall; Mr. Moran is photographer for the Oregon Shakespearean festival in Ashland. Another former resident here for the summer is Charles Reum, who with Mrs. Reum and their four children has arrived from . Honolulu. Among the newcomers are Don Adams, new manager ' of Medford Elks club, Mrs. Adams and their three children. (Brainerd photos) Jack Moran Jr. is spending the summer with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Moran, Jackson boulevard, and doing photographic work for the 1956 Oregon Shakespearean festival. The photographer, who also paints, is pictured here with his dachshund, Clyde, which accompanied him up from San Francisco". Mr. Moran, who served at festival photographer a few seasons ego, supplies pictures for the souvenir program issued each year as a part of the festival. Mr. and Mrs. Don Adams, who came to Medford recently from Klamath Falls, are shown here with their three children at their home on Haven street. The children are David, aged 3; Mary Alice, who was 6 years old on July 3, and Danny, who will be 7 July 19. Mr. Adams was a Boy Scout executive in Klamath Falls for a time and was serving as housing administrator for Oregon Technical institute before coming to Medford to be manager of the Medford Elks' club. The Adams brought along Mark, the family spaniel. : ' : 1 -A-Tl "" " ' " Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reum and their children have come from Honolulu in the Hawaiian islands to spend the summer in Medford. The children are Sarah Jeanne, 6; Peter (seated on the floor) who is 4 years old; Frank, aged 2 years, and Charles Jr., 7. Mr. Reum, a son of Mrs. F. H. Reum, Findley apartments, left Medford when he went into the Army several years ago. He is now with the Corps of Army Engineers in Hawaii. The Reums are living in the Frank C. Preston Jr. home erf 186 White Oak drive.
