Furch, Administratrix Harbison and Piazza Attorneys for Administratrix Monday, July i, 1956 MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE THREE Worshippers File From Church Fire Springfield, Ore. :u.R) Wor shippers at the Springfield Lu theran church yesterday, inter rupted in their hymn singing when a policeman rushed in to tell them the building was on fire, calmly marched outside still singing "He Leadet-h Me," as the officer brought the small blaze under control. Patrolman Robert Troutman said that he was cruising near tire church when a motorist call ed his attention to smoke com ing from the church. Troutman marched inside, asked the congregation to stop singing, and informed them of the situation. He rushed to the fire with an extinguisher while the congre gation filed from the church, and soon had the blaze quelled. Firemen said that the blaze could have reached "disastrous" proportions if not seen when it was. It started in a blanket on a carpenter's sawhorse. Firemen said that it could have been caused by children playing with matches or by spontaneous combustion.
