when a policeman rushed in to
tell them the building was on
fire, calmly marched outside
still singing "He Leadet-h Me,"
as the officer brought the small
blaze under control.
Patrolman Robert Troutman
said that he was cruising near

Troutman marched inside,
asked the congregation to stop
singing, and informed them of
the situation.
He rushed to the fire with an
extinguisher while the congre

and soon had the blaze quelled.
Firemen said that the blaze
could have reached "disastrous"
proportions if not seen when it
was. It started in a blanket on a
carpenter's sawhorse. Firemen
said that it could have been
caused by children playing with
matches or by spontaneous combustion.
