Meeting The Jackson county agriculture committee will meet today at 8 p.m. in the courthouse auditorium1 to discuss the market situation and crop prospects, W. B. Tucker, chief county agent, has announced. Any persons in terested in horticulture topics are welcome to attend, he said. Riverside Phone 3-4264 Medford, Oregon AIR CONDITIONED Medford Woman Takes Own Life Mrs. Ralph (Rosemary) Furrer, 38, well-known resident of Med ford for the past 18 years, ap parently took her own life some time Friday night by drowning in the Applegate river in the vi cinity of McKee bridge, accord ing to Coroner Carlos W. Morris. Mrs. Furrer's body was re covered about 3:55 p.m. Sunday about one-half mile below the bridge, state police reported. Search for the body began early Saturday afternoon after rela tives discovered a suicide note she had written. State police, the Jackson coun ty sheriff and coroner were called in on the case. Reports in dicated Mrs. Furrer had been suffering for some time from a nervous condition. Mr. and Mrs. Furrer moved to Medford in 1938. They later moved to Portland and Mrs. Fur rer and their three cildhren re turned to Medford in January of this year. They lived at 200 Sun rise cr. Furrer was affiliated with Medford Motors here and : now works for Northwest Hos pital service in Portland. Survivors include her hus ; band, Ralph, Portland; two sons, I Patrick ' James and Michael I Ralph; one daughter, Mariann; ; four sisters. Mrs. Francis Barr, Medford, Mrs. A. W. Sullivan and Mrs. Vincent Chiotti, both I of Portland, and Mrs. James Hall, Tacoma, Wash.; and four ; brothers, Maj. Patrick Doherty, stationed in Korea with the I Army, Richard J. She was a school teacher, and at one time had been a resident of Medford. She is survived by two neph ews, Vinton Hall, Highland Park, 111., and Seely V. Hall, Menlo Park, Calif.; two nieces, Mrs. Florence M. Jackson, Hun gry Horse, Mont., and Pearl Kain, Lakeview. Funeral services will be held at Lakeview on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Osterman Mortu ary. Interment will be at the Medford IOOF cemetery, at 3 p.m. in the family plot. Voters Favor School Budget in Roseburg Roseburg Voters of the Roseburg school district last week approved the proposed 1956-57 budget the third time it came up tor a vote. They had turned it down the two pre vious occasions. The budget, as submitted for the third time this year, was only slightly smaller than when sub mitted before. The second de feat followed a hot campaign by both supporters and opponents. Afterward, the many opponents joined in n study of budget needs, and finally came out in support of the slightly-trimmed proposal, which calls for the expenditure of $1,045,774.72 outside the 6 per cent limitation. A proposal that $15,000 be spent for a "reevaluation" of the school program, which also ap peared on the ballot, was de cisively defeated. Margin of ap proval of the budget, and defeat of the reevaluation, were both almost 2 to 1. About S7 percent of all the Italian people are members of the Roman Catholic church, ac cording to current estimates. An average passenger automo bile body has about 4,000 parts. RALEIGH E.
