Maybury of Carmel, Calif., spent Mothers day with their daughter and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Kellogg. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Morton, former owners of the Washburn ranch, were here on business and social visits recently and spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lockwood. Morton, who has just recovered from a severe heart attack suffered last winter in El Monte, Calif., now resides in Live Oak, Calif. Mrs. Chavner Thompson is spending a week in San Fran cisco, visiting and shopping. Mr. and Mrs. George Boye and daughter Kathy of Canoga spent the Mothers day weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Boye, and brother Billy and sis ter, Phyllis. The Josephsons and Freelands were neighbors for five years in Bohreen Island, Ar abia, where both of them worked j for Standard Oil. The Josephsons : are stopping over en route to Ma- j nila, Philippines. May 21 Mrs. Paul Thompson ; as second delegate and Mrs. Ce cil Thompson, as first delegate will leave for Tillamook to at- j tend the Rebekah assembly May 22 and 23. Mrs. Paul Thompson is inside guardian of the state' assembly, and Mrs. Cecil Thompson is be ing recommended as district deputy president. Gene Brown has been confin ed to his home and bed due to a bad bout of the "flu." The three dens of the Cub Scouts are invked to be in the Armed Forces day parade to be held in Medford Saturday. Their Hobe picnic has been postponed until the first Sunday in June. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Anderson's son, Forrest, and family have been home for the Mothers day week. Forrest Anderson now re sides in Richmond,. Wash. Mrs. Carrie Moore of Portland has been visiting her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Earle Moore and with Mrs. Myrtle Reel. Mr. and Mrs. Max Payne of Ramsey rd. gave a party for Mrs. Paynes' daughter, Miss Ruby Laisle, for her 17th birthday, May 12. Miss Laisle received many gifts. . Those present were Miss Nedra Sheppard, Miss Joe Mays, Miss Pat King, Miss Terri Hughes and Miss Sherri Arnold of Central Point, Miss Beverly Sanderson, Miss Pat Peffley, Miss Shirley Swindler, Miss Nite Swindler, Miss Dorothy Terry of Sams Valley, Miss Arlene Water house, Miss Ladean Waterhouse, Miss Frankie Robertson, Miss Dorothy Birdsong, Miss Anna Marie Mearz, Willy Taylor, Charles Laisle, Miss Ginger Hi att and Miss Murna Hiatt of Gold Hill. Thursday Mrs. Paul Molloy gave a luncheon honoring Mrs. Charles Bell, who is here on a visit, and Mrs. Ethel Mays, who has left for Tularosa, Mexico, where she expects to make her home. The showing will be held on the grounds by the Jeddaloh's fac tory. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Kell held a Mothers day dinner party at their home for Mrs. Kell's moth er, Mrs. William Force. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Arty Laws and children, Ronnie and Elizabeth, of Rogue River, Mr. and Mrs. Al Fink of Gold Hill, Mr., and Mrs. Lester Parker and Linda, Don Parker, and Shirley and Billy Kell. . Charles Fehely- of Yreka, Calif., is due here Friday for his yearly pilgrimage to clean up the graves of his pioneer rela tives. Fehely is now 87, a stud ent of natural, phenomena and an ex-miner. He will spend a few days in the home of the Frank Lockwoods before starting his work in Jacksonville. Boy Scouts are all being alert ed to remember their Camp-o-Ree Scouting trip which is to be next week. They will be told more details ' when ' the troop makes their weekly trip to the YMCA for their swimming les sons in Medford. The Amethyst Rebekah lodge was well represented in Grants Pass on Monday at the Grants Pass chapter's friendship night. . Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buchanan spent the week end in Roseburg visiting relatives. Mrs. Lester and children are spending a few days with her husband in Los Angeles where he is now employed in a saw mill and is treating the wood for termites. Friday.
