The fraternities, Phi Sigma "Kappa and Delta Upsilon, were banned from engaging in any campus social activities as an organization for the remainder of the school year. School officials said Phi Sigma Kappa was put on social proba tion because members had hit a student with a paddle during a pre-initiation ceremony,, causing an aggravation of a physical con dition. The incident occurred Jan. 27 and the student required medical attention at the college infirmary the following day, au thorities 6aid.
