Divorcee Confesses Killing Politically Prominent Boy Friend St. Louis, Mo. U.R) A sultry voung divorcee, charged with first degree murder of her po litically prominent lover, react ed today with both grief and defiance Mrs. June Joy Milton, a 26- year-old brunette beauty, con- fessed shooting Walter A. Sie- bert, 59, in the back Sunday during" a bedroom argument at his swank suburban home "I'm not sorry," the twice wed Mrs. Milton said. "He had it coming." But later she told a jail ma tron she should have taken her own life, also, "because I loved him so much." After the murder, she confess ed she set fire to the bed in which her nude lover was lying in hopes of destroying the evi dence. Charged with Murder The divorcee, a 'svelte five-foot-three, was arrested early Monday and was charged with .first degree murder and arson Monday night Siebert, a widower, was a prbminent county Republican leader and chief supervisor for the St. Louis county highway de partment. Mrs. Milton said she met him three years ago at a New Year's Eve party and be came his mistress. She had been visiting him three times a week, sometimes spending the night or a week end, she said. On Sunday, Mrs. Milton told officials, Siebert started argu ing about her dating a traveling salesman and threatened to shoot her with a luger. She said she became frightened, grabbed the gun, and shot Siebert as he City Council Accepts $1,749 for Sewer Use The Medford city council last week accepted $1,749 from the White City Realty company as settlement for use of a sewer connection from the area to the city treatment plant for the pe riod from 1949 to Jan. 1, 1956. John Laden, manager of the realty company, said the firm installed septic tanks to service the . various industries in the Camp White area, when the leaky line connecting the area to the Medford line became unsuitable.' Mrs. Milton said she shot Sie bert at about 2 a.m. Sunday aft er he came home from a Lincoln Day meeting of Missouri Repub lican leaders in St. Louis. She spent the day moving her cloth ing, a television set, and Sie bert's cocker spaniel -to the home of her mother, and then returned to destroy the evi dence, she said. Siebert's body dropped through the floor into the base ment while firemen were bat tling the blaze. Mrs. Milton was arrested a short time later at a tourist court while making .a telephone call. Havana Police Hurt In Demonstrations Havana, Cuba (U.R) Three police officers suffered gunshot wounds yesterday in connection with daylong student demonstra tions at the University of Hav ana. Several students were arrested. The policemen were shot while guarding the approaches to the university. There was no indication as to who fired the shots. The University Students Fed eration had announced it would stage a march from the univer sity to the spot where student Ruben Batista was wounded fat ally by police during a demon stration three years ago. Philippines Senate Seeks Claim Settlement Manila, P.I. (U.R) The Senate called on President Ra- nion Mageaysay Monday to seek settlement by the United States of Philippine claims amounting to more than $800,000,000. A Senate resolution listed the major claims as $100,000,000 ad ditional war damage,. $23,800, 000 in gold devaluation refunds, $458,349 representing currency confiscated by the Japanese government from local banks during the war, $128,000,000 in coconut oil excise taxes and $493,274,000 in army claims.
