Sheriff's deputies found 56 gallons of "moonshine" buried with his late mule. ' Harlan, ICy. (U.R) School au thorities looked today for a new teacher with special qualifica tions for Little Jesse Creek school. The teacher is needed to re place one who quit because he had to double as a ferryman for the pupils after a bridge collapsed. St. Paul, Minn. (U.R) One of Gov. Orville Freeman's consti tuents wasted no words in tell ing the Governor what he thought of him. He sent the following letter: "Dear Sir: "You are a bum. "Yours very truly, "Joe Primsell." Chicago (U.R) It cost police man Jack Muller S3 to live up to his reputation sis champion ticket writer on the Chicago police force. Muller lent his car to a friend, A few hours later Muller spot ted his car, parked in an illegal one. Knight, captain for. the district, to please turn-on their porch lights between the hours of 7 and 8 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Richardson of Crater Lake ave. went to Grants Pass over the week end to visit Otis Medart, brother of Mrs. Richardson, who is recu perating from an appendicitis operation. - Mrs. Ed Bemis of Spring st. and her three boys went to Sun land, Calif., last week to be with her mother who was suddenly taken ill. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Hoover moved last week from the Neal home on Roberts rd. to their own home which they bought recent ly on Gregory rd. Delmar McCray of Gary ave. spent the week end with his fam ily. He is working at Brookings with Keith Bros., contractors, where they have a contract for the repair of some of the coast highway north of Brookings. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hutchins of Crater Lake ave. and two of their children, Sharon and Wayne, have moved to Klamath Falls where Hutchins is working with Morrison and Knutson on construction of the airpcrt over there. Their, other son Jimmy is , staying with his aunt and uncle, ;Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hutchins of Crater Lake ave. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hutchins of Klamath Falls spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hutchins and family on Crater Lake ave. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Palmer of Glendale and Sandra were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lindsay and fam ily on Spnngorook rd. Sunday, Jan. 22. Airman 1st Class .Chester Ernst, son of Mr. Jere Kreischer of Springbrook rd., and his Jap anese bride arrived in Oakland, Calif., Jan. 25, coming by plane from Japan where he was sta tioned. After receiving his dis charge from the U. S. Navy they will come to Medford and. will be at home to friends at his mother's home. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Palmer called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Sydney, Australia (U.R) A crazed horse ran wild at Mascot Airport disrupting air traffic for five hours. Incoming pilots were offered alternate landing fields, but all elected to take their chance of meeting the horse on the run ways. The horse finally wandered away during the night after air port officials were unsuccessful in trapping it. Pueblo, Colo. (U.R) It eost Rudy Crus $40 in car repairs because Pueblo was the coldest city in the United States Mon day with a temperature of 16 degrees below xero. He lighted a small fire under his automobile engire to warm it so it would start. The engine caught fire. Tallahassee, Fla. (U.R) Fra ternity pledges Tom Hafner and Paul Snyder held a prowler at bay with a sinister-looking German gun and a champagne bottle until police arrived. Henry E. Durden, 33, of Quin- cy, Mas., booked for entering the boy's room at Florida. State University, found out too late both the bottle and the gun were empty. junior varsity team lost to How ard by one point. This team is composed of fifth and sixth I graders. The girls volley ball team was defeated for the frist time in four years by the Howard school by a score of 16. to 15. A ski hike was enjoyed by Boy Scout Troop 2 and their Scoutmaster, Dick Swan, with Billy and Jackie Richardson, Ronnie Miller, and Monte Pen well participating from here. They went up on the Green- sprmgs and spent Saturday night in a forest service cabin, return ing Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. William Neal have moved into their home on Roberts rd. Oregon Uranium Credited by AEC Washington (U.R) . The Atomic Enerrv commission has : credited Oregon uranium with j helping to maintain the nation's j position as one of the world's I leading producers of the atomic i ore. The commission's semi-annual report referred to the White King and Lucky Lass mines c' the Lakeview area which were added to the nation's uranium i producing operations during the . last six months of 1955. The report also commented on uranium explorations in the Lakeview vicinity apart from i I the two original mines but a j spokesman said it was too early j to tell whether the deposits : were commercially significant. Mining in the southeastern i I Oregon operations is now slack due to bad weather conditions. Ohio Family Sends 12 Children To College Cedarville, O. (U.R)- The Raymond Williamsons near here have sent all 12 of their children to college. Eleven of the children en rolled in Bowling Green, .(Ohio) State University. The twelfth child enrolled in Cedarville Col lege but left in 1650 to take over the family farm when the father died. . A main attraction for the Wil liamson children at Bowling Gren has been their father's sister, Dr. Florence J.
