1 CENTRAL POINT Merchants' Group Formed By Mrs. Muriel W. Shortridge Central Point The Central Point Merchant's association held it's January meeting last Monday. It is an infant organiza tion, having been in existance only two months, but it shows signs of being a strong and help ful group of community-minded business people. At present its membership consists of about 40 men, rep resenting 15 firms. A committee has been named by President Jim Glenn to recruit every bus iness in the community. The as sociation was inaugurated for the purpose of bringing the town together as a unit to establish city-wide promotion. Don E. Burelson Jr., RMSN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don E. But a sour note climax ed the affair as some spectators returned to their cars to find aerials broken or gone, also rear view mirrors and hub caps, ac cording to Central Point Police Chief Orrin Chastain. He states that they hope to apprehend the vandals shortly. A Founder's day tea will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 7, by the Central Point Parent-Teacher association at the Junior- High library.
