o SIX MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Friday, January 13 1956 Adull Course, Children's Work Activities Told An area-wide worker's train ing course is being planned ' at the Medford Assembly of God, 1103 West Main st, to begin on Jan. 23 and to continue each night through Jan. 27. The Rev. Robert Pirtle, national Sunday school representative of the Sunday School department of the Assemblies of God, will be the director and teacher of the course. The course will include a new textbook, "Into All Truth" by the Rev. Stanley Horton and will provide a comprehensive study of the fundamental doc trines of the Bible. Sessions will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will last until 9:30 p.m. All interested in attending the study are invited to come to the opening period at which the textbook may be pur- chased. A certificate will be giv en to all who complete the study. A new Sunday evening pro gram for junior high boys and girls will begin this Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Medford Assembly of God, 1108 West Main St., un der the direction of Dwight Stjles. A varied program of music, songs, Bible study, storie3 of personal witnessing, films and quiztimes will be provided each Sunday evening. e The program is a part of the enlarged Sunday evening pro gram of the church to provide all ages with definite devotion al and study sessions. The Rev. Wildon Colbaugh, pastor of the church, states that there is an increasing interest throughout the community for religious fel lowship and instruction and all junior high boys and girls inter ested are invited. Medford Divinity Student To Speak Harlan Bosworth, a junior student at the Church of Divin ity School of the Pacific ' in Berkeley, Calif., will speak Sun day, Jan. 22 at St. Mark's Epis copal church, in observance of Theological Education Sunday for the Protestant Episcopal church throughout the United States. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Boswortn" Jr., 2425 East Main st. The date is the time when Episcopal church's 11 seminar ies in the United States will make an annual appeal for funds with which' to further their brk of traning future minis-: ters. Mr. Bosworth entered the school from his home parish, St. Mark's. Referring to needs of the sem inaries, Sherman E. Johnson, dean of the Church of Divinity School of the Pacific, said, "None of the 11 seminaries is supported by national church funds. The film shows the work done at the Latin Amer ican Orphanage among Mexico children. Report Given On Classes; Boys Honored Central Point About 35 students attended a class Wed nesday evening sponsored by the Sacred Heart parish at Central Point American Legion hall. The class was second in a series of instruction offered through the parish to be held each Wed nesday at 7:30 p.m., in the hall. The Rev: Robert Tomisser, as sistant pastor of the parish, is in charge. - The course is for high school and grade school students and all in the vicinity interested are invited. . . At the class this week Mrs. Frank Perl showed colored pic tures of churches in Italy taken by her on a recent trip to that country. Altar boys of the church who attend St. Mary's school were honored at a party held at the school Thursday afternoon. At tending were 38 of the boys who serve the masses at the church. They were served refreshments. Sister Evelyn Mary, who. assigns and trains the altar boyS, was in charge of the party which had been arranged by a parishioner. Preceding the party a film was shown of California Oregon Power company installations in southern Oregon, the film ar ranged through the courtesy of the company.
