Easier Turkey Preparaiion Due Chicago OI.R Husbands will be spared the chore of carv ing the family turkey within 10 years and their wives will spend less than an hour preparing and cooking the bird, a poultry ex pert said today. Dr. James M. Gwin, general manager of the Poultry and Egg National Board, predicted that turkeys will be sold pre-sliced by 1966, probably out of vend ing machines. "Induction or electronic heat ing may permit the birds to be hard -frozen and raw at 11 o'clock and completely cooked and ready for serving by noon," he told the annual meeting of the National Turkey Federation. He said turkey sold through vending machines may account for volume sales in the future, and added that cooked, ready to eat portions may be vended to workers in factories and offices. Around Hollywood By ALINE MOSBY United Press Correspondent . Hollywood (U.R) On Vine st., busy hub of Hollywood's television and record world, a s h opk eeper named Sy De vore is singled out as the man who did it. Sy confesses it's he who makes those jazzy clothes Aline Mosby for Liberace. Devore is a tailor, and his Vine st. shop, surrounded by the big network TV studios, caters to the stars of the home screens. Of all his celebrated customers, Sy is proudest of how he started Liberace on the. road to sarto rial splendor. "This is one of the things that helped his career," announced Devore today. Liberace's Style Changes "When Liberace came to me Bill Holden sent him in I changed his style completely. He was wearing wide shoulders and droopy things. He wanted something a little different. In fact, he. wanted a pink tuxedo, but I talked him out of that." Instead' Liberace got white tie and tails,- a gold lame tuxedo and a gold-and-black tuxedo with black satin lapel and cuffs. Devore also made Liberace's wardrobe for his first movie, "Sincerely Yours" a gold lace smoking jacket, gray silk suit and black tuxedo sprinkled with gold polka dots. Shop Becomes Landmark Devore's shop is a Hollywood landmark where the TV crowd hangs out. In the barbership in back, I found a Marilyn Monroe calendar and George Burns and George Gobel getting shaves. Out in front Donald O'Connor was looking over some checker ed vests. Devore claims the distinction of getting Bing Crosby out of those Hawaiian' sport shirts and into clothes that fit and match. The tailor also lured George Gobel into tails. "Actually movies are so far away from the viewer that suits don't show top much," said the tailor. "But stars get very clothes conscious on TV. They all want suits to make them look tall." About 17,000,000 persons crossed the English channel in 1954. WANNA BUY A TROLLEY? New York (U.R) Want to own a trolley car? It looks strictly "upper bracket" with its bold new Motoramic styling ... its longer, lower hood . . . its proud new grille that spans the full front end. Even the details would do credit to an expensive car . . . like the sleek, high fashion taillights (the left one swings down to uncover the gas cap!). - And, inside, mink coats look right at home with Chevrolet's fine new interiors. But, even beyond the costly appearance of its Fisher Body, Chevy gives the. high priced cars a run for their money. For it's one of the few great road cars built today! You'll see what that means when you take one out on the highway. You'll feel the added security of Chevrolet's nailed down stability. You'll thrill at the way it wheels around tight turns as fobtsure as a cat on a carpet! When you need a quick sprint for safer passing, or a power punch to flatten out a hill you've got it!
