The wed dings are planned for spring and summer. Mr. and Mrs. Frank D. Boone 1526 est Main street, announce the engagement of their daugh &r, Fidelia Boone, td Gary gBoshears, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Boshears, 409 South Grape street. The wedding is planned for the coming June. The bride-elect was graduated from Medford High school and Oregon State colleee. where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Tls fall she en rolled at Merrill Palmer. Detroit. Mich., school for . kindergarten training, and returned home earlier this month. Mr. Boshears, also a graduate of Medford High ' school, is at tending Yale university and will :ba graduated in June with a degree in engineering. He will then be commissioned an ensign in the United States Navy and wgl be placed on active duty. Relatives Attend Birthday Party Mrs'. R. A. Durno, 222 Valley View drive, announce the engagement of their daugh ter, Jane, to Dr. Brian D. String er, son of Mr. and Mrs. Trevor W. Stringer, Christchurch, New Zealand. A May wedding is planned. The bride-elect attended Med ford sckools and the University of Oregon, where she was a mem ber of Delta Gamma sorority. She recently completed nurse's training at Massachusetts Gen eral Hospital in Boston. Dr. Stringer attended Christ college and completed his work for a degree in medicine at the University of New Zealand. He served with the Royal New Zea land Air Force in Malaya, India and South Pacific. Dr. Stringer did post-graduate work at Harvard university and Massachusetts General Hospital as a Fulbright scholar and is now in Edinburgh, Scotland, tak ing the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. Kenner, 327 North Oakdale avenue, an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Shirley Ruth Ken ner, to Larry Dean McNealy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Mc Nealy, Goldendale, Wash. The bride-elect is a senior student at Medford Senior High school. Her fiance was graduated m 1955 from" the same' school. Miss Shirley Kenner (Landis-Shangle photo) Amaranth Holds Yuletide Parties The annual Christmas party of Roxy Ann court, Order of the Amaranth, was held Decem ber 15 after a short business meeting. Gifts for needy children were brought by the members and were given to a committee for distribution. ' A buffet, supper, was served under the supervision of Mrs. Edward C. Root, with turkey and ham on the menu. Games and entertainment were also pro vided. Sixty - five members were present. Fifteen members of the past royal matrons and patrons asso ciation of Roxy Ann court, Or der of the Amaranth, met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lambo, 1389 South Peach street, Sunday, December 18 for a pot- luck dinner and Christmas party. Plans for the April meeting were discussed and gifts were exchanged. Mr. and Mrs. Lambo were as sisted by Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Kennedy and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn L. Linn. The Disney people hope .they have a successor to "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" in "Yaller, Yaller Gold," a song used on the "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates" show on ABC on Dec 14. George Burns and Tom Blackburn, who wrote the Crock ett ballad, also did this new ' u sJf J$ Betrothal News Told at Dinner Christmas Eve Dr. and Mrs. Dwight M. Find ley, Old Stage road, have an nounced the engagement of their daughter, Jeanene, to Gerald Franklin Bartz, son of Mrs. Aur and E. Linker, Portland. The news was made known at a Christmas eve dinner party given last night by the Findleys at their home. Guests were a few of the bride-elect's long time friends and their parents. Miss Findley, a graduate of Willamette university and a member of Delta Gamma soror ity, is on the faculty of William Clark school in Portland. Mr. Bartz, an attorney, was enrolled at the University of Illinois for his pre-law educa tion and took his law degree at Willamette .university. He is associated witli the firm of Haas and Schwabe, attorneys-at-law, in Portland. His social fraternity is Chi Psi and he is also a mem ber of the legal fraternity, Phi Delta Phi. The . wedding will take place in June. Miss Johnson, a junior at Ore gon State college, is a home eco nomics major. She is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Mosley, Seattle, Wash., has announced the en gagement of her daughter, Miss Dolores Arlene Baize, to William Carl Caldwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Caldwell, Eagle Point. The bride-elect is employed as a stenographer by Pacific Tele phone and Telegraph company, Seattle. Her fiance attends Pa cific university at Forest Grove, where he is majoring in physical education. - . . Both Miss Baize' and Mr. Cald well are 1955 graduates of Eagle Point high school." (Hartsook photo) Christmas Party Held by Auxiliary The auxiliary to the Siskiyou canton, Patriarchs Militant, met for an annual Christmas dinner December 17. Over 60 persons attended. A program was conducted when the group sang carols. Dances were furnished by Miss Joyce Lee Gilinsky, accompan ied by Miss Wanda Oetken. The next meeting will be January 20 and installation of officers will be conducted. The public is invited to the installation. Holidays Miss Jeanene Findley (Brainerd photo) Miss Mary Leach To Become Bride Of Lt. McKibben ' Central Point The announce ment of the engagement of Miss Mary Rhoda Leach, daughter of Mrs. Walter L. Leach, West Orange, N.J., and the late Mr. Leach, to Lt. Ferney M. McKib ben. son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. McKibben, Route 2, ' Box 865, Central Point, was announced last week by the bride-elect's mother. The wedding is set for June 9 of next summer. . . Miss Leach is a resident head at Simmons college in Boston, Mass., and Lieutenant McKibben is doing graduate work at Massa chusetts Institute of Technology in Navy architecture and Marine engineering. He was graduated in 1945 from Medford Senior high school and from the Coast Guard academy at New London, Conn., in 1950. Lieutenant Mc Kibben is to complete his grad uate work next June. Miss Leach was elected to Pi Lambda Theta honorary society at Indiana university. She was graduated from the university with a master of science degree, and- previously was graduated from Douglass college, . New Brunswick, N.J., receiving her bachelor of arts degree. Good, Wellsville, Kans., and the bride groom is a son of Mrs. Ivy Bay singer, Whittier, Calif. Mrs. Best, a cousin of the bride, was the honor attendant and . Mr. Best served as best man. The bride's gown was of ash- rose brocaded material and her flowers were two white orchids. Mrs. Best's gown was of grey taffeta and her flowers were gardenias. The Bests served refreshments at the reception after the cere mony. The couple is living at 408 East D street, Jacksonville. The bride attended, schools in Cherryvale, Kans. She is em ployed as a seamstress at the Shamrock Furniture company in Medford. - The bridegroom, who attended schools at Friona, Tex., is em ployed by V. C. Freemantle, Applegate, Ore. Two Groups Plan New Year Party Plans for a New Year's event party were made by Medford Jaycettes when they met for a Christmas party December 21 at the new home of Mrs. C. W. Rombach Jr., Dark Hollow road. The party will be held joint ly with members of the Junior Chamber . of Commerce, Satur day, December 31 at the Tee Pee Dance hall. About 100 mem bers and guests are expected. Mrs. Charles Jones report ed on a recent drive to supply magazines to Sacred Heart hos pital and asked members to take other magazines to future meet ings. It is suggested that the recipe members take for the culinary file should be the one used 'for the cookies or candy. Business will be kept to. a minimum, and a short program is planned. Ken Degerness Visits Parents Ken Degerness will leave by United Air lines Monday for Spokane, Wash., after visiting with his parents since Thursday He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W C. Degerness, 520 Dakota street, and is to be graduated in Jan uary from Whitworth college at Spokane. He majored in adver tising work and has accepted a position in the Washington city with Miller, Ogle and Meyer, advertising firm.
