The purpose of giving the grant :s to aid older women who find they must earn their living after several years of ab sence from the labor market, and who need financial help in securing the schooling necessary to fit themselves for employ ment. According to statistics from the United States Labor bureau, women at the early age of 35 find employment barriers existing in many fields of work. To overcome these women must show complete and recent train ing to employers who have prejudices when experience has been found to be not recent enough. Applications for this grant are already being received by the committee, and members urge everyone to pass on the informa tion to those they think might benefit from such a grant. All applications will be handled confidentially. The decisions will not be made by the com mittee until after December 1, deadline for applications.
