Hollywood's favorite new blonde is back in Cinema City Aline Mosby and before the cameras for the first' time in a year, in MGM'j "The Swan." In h absence the Kelly legend of the "lady-like" beauty with "stainless steel insides" has snow balled. Kiss Kelly, knitting a pair of rgyle socks in her dressing room between scenes, confessed he't "perplexed1 by it . "Tfct one thing, that bewilders m if people saying, 'She's a '56 Chevrolet streaks up Pikes Peak to new record! A RECORD-BREAKING NEW CHEVROLET frmy Time By ALINE MOSBY United Press Correspondent lady,' " the fragile blonde re flected. "What do they mean by 'lady'? " Resembles Disease "Some times people make it sound as though it's some dis ease." The second half of the Kelly legend is that she is, as some journalists have described her, "aloof" and "cool." Yet on-screen, as the actress pointed out, she has sizzled the celluloid with love scenes in "Rear Window" and "To Catch a Thief." And off-screen she recently was photographed for a maga zine in a not-so-cool real life love scene with French actor Jean Pierre Aumont. "I thought I had dispelled that cool business after 'Rear Win dow," " she said. "But I still was known as cool after that. I guess it's something I'm stuck with." Though some observers regard 1 4 &i'T . I (CIKlIEVIIBdDLIETr Ninth and Bartlett Streets By Jimmy Hatlo Grace as "reserved," others see signs she's defrosted. Miss K. even is a practical joker, she revealed. When "The Swan" company was en route back from a North Carolina location, she sent co- star Alec Guinness a series of mysterious romantic telegrams signed by a fictitious "Alice." "The Swan" is Miss Kelly's first costume picture, and she wears frothy, empire-style dress es with flowers in her piled-up blonde hair. Next, she'll do a comedy with Jimmy Stewart and then head for her first try at starring on Broadway. Aumont appears on Broadway this season, and she hopes to see his play when she returns to her New York apartment. But, the lady-like Miss Kelly smiled, "We're just good friends." The principle of jet propulsion was understood and put into de sign form some 2,000 years ago by Hero, an Alexandrian philosopher. What you see here is automobile history in the making. For this is an actual on-the-scene shot of a camouflaged '56 Chevrolet shattering the Pikes Peak record in a dramatic, top-secret run. supervised and certified by .NASCAR. The fast-talking radio and tele vision comedian will have to come up with answers better than participants on his own "You Bet Your Life" to prove he doesn't. U.S. Tax Court records has disclosed that Groucho, of the crouching stance and broad-brimmed mustache, and a former partner, John B. Guedel, are charged with jointly owing near ly $100,000 in back taxes for 1950-51-52. Deficient After Sal The Internal Revenue Service claims the deficiencies arose when Groucho and Guedel sold their show "You Bet Your Life" to National Broadcasting Co. in 1950. Marx received $750,000 from the sale and Guedel $250,000. Marx said he received $10,000 at the time of sale. The agree ment called for payments of $74,- 000 on June 1 each succeeding year until the full amount was paid. Guedel got $5,000 at the time of sale and was to get $24,000 on each succeeding June 1 until the total was paid. Capital Gains Claimed Both claimed the income should be treated as a capital gain and taxable at a maximum of 25 per cent. The government claims- that only 25 per cent of each man's share can be considered a cap ital gain and the balance is tax able at regular income tax rates. The case probably will be heard next summer. HORSE GONE Sylvia, Kan. KU.R) The horse that carried seven children of farmer Earl Keesling to school through the years is dead. The horse lived 31 years.
