The West has lined up against an Indian demand fors open United Nations debate on forma tion of a U.S.-proposed interna tional atomic energy agency. Canada was expected to add its vcice to the Western stand in an address in the U.N. Politi cal committee's discussion of the atoms for neace program first proposed by President Eisen hower. Public Debate Opposed The United States and Britain were finnly on record against a public debate of steps to estab lish' the international agency which would govern the distrl bution and control of fissionable materials for peaceful use of atomic energy in various coun tries. Syria,- Indonesia, Burma and Yugoslavia lined up with India in opposition to secret negotia tions on the agency. Anthony Nutting, British min ister of state, told the tU-nation committee yesterday that the details of the draft statute set ting up the agency were "hard' ly the kind of thing which can be fruitfully discussed here and I would suggest that all the com ments should be handled through governmental channels and sent direct to the U.S. gov ernment." Last of Air Crash Victims Removed Laramie, Wyo. (U.R) The lastrof the bodies of the 66 vic tims of the nation's most disas trous commercial airlines crash were removed from near the summit of Medicine Bow Peak late Monday. The back-breaking task of re moving the bodies began early Friday, the day after the four engined, United Air Lines DC4 crashed into the rocky, 12,500 foot peak. The credits for the picture will read, "Produced by Aline Motor Samuel Gold- wyn." Yet few fans realize part of the credit should go to his wife, ,Francis, who has been working with him at his studio every day for 20 years. While most movie moguls' wives stick to the hearthside and swimming pool, Mrs. Goldwyn works in an office next to her husband's at the Goldwyn stu dio. For" "Guys and Dolls," as on many other pictures, she super vised the wardrobe, hairstyles and make-up of Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando and Vivian Blaine. Adds New Chores On top of those chores, she also was busy having the studio redecorated and a new commis sary built. She handled those jobs as easily as most women manage a new paint job on the old two-bedroom house. Mrs. Goldwyn is not. frus trated, she declared in a rare in terview today, because she re ceives no pay or screen credit. "I have no desire for recogni tion or a real career," explained Mrs. Goldwyn, a brisk-talking, pleasant woman who celebrated 30 years .of marriage last April. "I want my husband's pic tures to get done. I want his career to be good. I find it high ly rewarding to be around the studio, to be a part of his busi ness. "In my experience, men tell their wives about their work, anyway. Some claim they don't. But then they'll say, 'My wife thinks ..." Women work with their husbands more than is acknowledged by the men." Calls Herself Assistant Mrs. . Goldwyn calls herself "an assistant's assistant assist ant" to one of the world's most famous film-makers. She "grad ually" grew into this job when Sam left scripts lying around the house, and ''I read them out of nosiness. "Gradually I began to meddle in this or that," she said. "Then 20 years ago I took an office in the studio. "I really do all the lower class chores. I read all the scripts that come in, and if I think one will interest my husband, he gets it. We don't have any story depart ment any more as other studios do. ."I okay wardrobe sketches, or sometimes he does. I see the 'rushes' every day with him." The most difficult part of her unsung job: "To keep my mouth shut." "I wait until he discusses things with me," she said. "He doesn't make a major decision without talking with me. "He wouldn't have spent $1, 000,000 for the story , of 'Guys and ' Dolls' for example, if I hadn't , said, 'Now, listen, Sam, you go ahead and do it.' " DIES READING WILL Maiden, Mass. (U.R) While reading his will, William Moore, 68, collapsed and died of a heart seizure. What are your wedding day memories? Did it proceed smoothly? Was everything as merry as the marriage bells? However, my favorite place on the Bay of Naples is Sorrento. I certainly liked it there. In fact, I wouldn't mind living in Sorrento if it were nearer Belmont Park. Passing By Dick Adler, one of the many natives of New York. City who have become highly successful song writers. With Jerry Ross, another native New Yorker, Dick wrote the ditty titled "Hey There," the hit of the musical show "Pajama Game." I don't know how many recordings of "Hey There" have been sold al together. However,' the one Dinah Shore made has already sold over a 'million copies. Broken Hearts "No emotion has ever caused a broken heart not even love." So said Dr. Paul D. White, noted Boston heart specialist. This brings to mind that several years ago another eminent physician said the seat of love was not in the heart but in the liver. He did not say, however, how love af fects the liver. Or whether a man could die of a broken liver. Perhaps, sir, if you are in love with a beautiful red haired fe male who shows signs of iieing fickle you better check with your physician. I mean she might turn you down and give you liver trouble. Under what sign are born the most girls who marry but once? Those most 'likely to celebrate a silver wedding? Under what sign are born those who marry many times? Such are the queries of a Baltimore bachelor. So far the girls who stay mar ried the longest dont' seem to be in the majority in any par ticular sign. Irene Dunne was born under Cancer. Jeannette MacDonald is a Gemini. Helen Hayes is a Libra. Same is true of those who marry many times. No sign appears to have a mon opoly. Gloria Swanson is Aries. Arline Judge is a Piscean. Shoes High heeled, tight shoes have a bad affect on a woman's dancing. They also make her more difficult for her partner to lead. Such, is the comment of a femine aubscriber who says the manufacturers have yet to make a "smart looking" shoe that is comfortable to dance in. Daughters Daughters are much more ex pensive and difficult to rear than sons. There should be more books of helpful hints on hand ling daughters. One on handling daughters-in-law would also be useful. Incidentally, Mary Woll stonecroft Godwin wrote a book titled "Thoughts on the Educa tion of Daughters." And her daughter, Mary Wollstonecroft Shelley, at the age of 21 wrote that literary classic, "Franken stein." Benjamin B. Davis, a promi nent Chicago divorce lawyer, said the Bragnos are "definitely living apart." Her husband, Edward A. Bragno, was reported occupying their near North Side home. He is president of a wine company and a wealthy man in his own right. Mrs. Bragno. a striking 28-year-old brunette, was variously reported as staying with friends here and as going to New York. . Mrs. Bragno fell heiress to a fortune last year upon the death of her grandmother, Mrs. Mollie Netcher Newbury, the one-time "merchant queen" of Chicago's State street. The size of the in heritance did not become known until after an exhaustive search of bank accounts and deposit boxes. American Seriously Hurl in Air Crash Vienna U.R) An American was reported in critical condi tion today from injuries suffer ed in the crash of a Yugoslav airliner which took the lives of seven persons, including three I other Americans. I The three Americans killed j when the plane crashed in the Vienna woods Monday were identified as Sgt. Frank Allen, attached to the American mili tary advisory group in' Belgrade; his wife Melita, and James Ray Abshier, who was attached to the office of the naval attache in the U.S. Embassy at Bel grade. Their home towns were with held pending notice to their families. A fourth American. Frank P. Irwin, 33, Pleasant Point, 111., was critically Injured.
