0 O Q Local and Fined Johnnie Dean Gibson, i 19, of 1024 "West 11th st., Med ford, pleaded guilty and was fined $55 in district court yester day for engaging in a speed con test on a public highway. His operator's license was suspended for 20 days. He was arrested by state police at the intersection of Highways 99 and 62 north of Medford. Logger Hurt Orage Houston, Trail, is at Community hospital for treatment of injuries receiv ed when he was struck by a falling Jee in the McAllister Soda Springs area, according to Medford ambulance attendants who were called Tuesday about 1:30 p.m. Houston spent a fair night and his condition is re ported as good. L. L. Flue Fire City firement were called to a flue fire at the C. M. Hurd resident, 1648 Orchard Home dr., this morn ing. They reported slight dam age to the wall behind the stove. Two pumpers were sent to a re ported house fire at the Arthur Dubs home, 1901 Stratford ave. yesterday afternoon. Firemen said that a forgotten deepwell cooker in the kitchen range was the cause of the alarm and that there was no damage other than smoke. Overheated stoves were cheeked at two residences yes terday afternoon and evening. The calls were to the William Sweet home, 722 Pennsylvania ave., . and to the Robert James house, 616 Pennsylvania. Flown Home Ray Tresham, Point, who suffered a heart at tack while on a hunting trip to eastern Oregon Sept. 31 was flown tp Medford by Mercy Flights air ambulance service yesterday. He was picked up at Prairie City. George Milligan and Bill Brooks were pilot and co-pilot. He was the 408th pa tient carried by the non-profit organization's planes. Son Born Mr. and Mrs. John D. Simons Jr., Portland, are par ents of a son, Daniel Jay, born Sept. 17. The mother is the for mer Miss Beverly Bishop, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bishop of Eugene, former Medford resi dents. Other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John D. Simon, Portland, and great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bishop, Des Moines, la., and Mrs. Jessie Wakefield of Medford. The child is the couple's son. Home Sold The sale of the Richard Leever property located at 2436 Capital ave., was an nounced today by Bill Kerr of the Fidler-McKenzie agency in cooperation with the Walker Real estate agency. The home was purchased by Dr. and Mrs. Dwaine E. Nelson. Dr. Nelson's practice will be limited to dental surgery. They came from "Port land where he practiced since leaving the Navy. Mr. and Mra Leever plan to leave soon for their new home in Arizona. Fisher, 807 South Central ave., recently was assigned to the 566th transpor tation company at Ft. Eustis, Va., with the Army. He is a stevedore and entered the Army last February. Private Fisher completed basic training at Ft. Ord, Calif. In civilian life he at tended Medford High school and was employed at Crater Lake Lumber company. ON LEAVE Bjarne A Bjornsen, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bjorn sen, 113 Laurel st., is visiting here on recruit leave from the Marine Corps. Bjornsen, who was a student at Lebanon high school prior to his enlistment, joined the corps on May 3. His father is a construction con struction contractor currently working on the new courthouse annex. Private Bjornsen will re port back to the corps at Camp, Pendleton, Calif. ( VISITING Charles E. Taylor, an airman second class, and his wife and young daughter, Diana Lynn, are visiting relatives in Med ford while he is on leave. Air man Taylor is currently serv ing, with the second Air Force at Carswell Air Force base, Ft. Worth, Tex. The Taylors plan to return there about Oct. 20 by way of Redding, San Fran cisco and Los Angeles, where they will visit other relatives. Duplicate Last Names Confuse Naval Base Quonset Point R. I. U.R) Two fellows named Wood have kept matters confused at this naval base. ' Cdr. George O. Wood succeed ed Cdr. Robert B. Wood as com manding officer of a carrier air group last year. 'S 111 Wednesday, October 12, 1955 Funeral Pending For Edith Bundy, Long-Time Resident Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Belle Bundy, 86, who died Tues day, are pending at' Conger Morris funeral borne. The Rev. George R. V. Bolster of St. Mark's Episcopal church will of ficiate. Committal will be by the side of her husband, the late Dr. Louis Bundy, in Medford IOOF cemetery. ' Honorary pall bearers will in clude Spanish-American war vet erans. The deceased was born April 6, 1869, in Lane county, Oregon, of pioneer parents James and Phebe Parker, who came to Ore gon in 1981 and1853. Her fath er took up a donation land claim in the Willamette valley near Pleasant Hill. She was married in 1892 in Lane county to Louis Bundy, and in 1900 the couple came to Medford where Dr. Bundy prac ticed dentistry until his death in 1929.
