Grainger, of Hurds- field estate, Nacclesfield, Chesh ire county, England, arrived Fri day to visit her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mark W. Hoefft, and family ' at Eagle Point. The visitor made the crossing by ship, arriving at Montreal, Can. From there she went by plane to New York City and thence to San Francisco and Medford, by plane. It was only by chance, as yet unexplained, why Mrs. Grainger was not on the DC-4 United Main liner- which crashed last week near Laramie, Wyo. She was scheduled for that flight but in some manner missed the plane. - For several hours Mrs. Grainger was the object of a search through telegrams and telephone calls until it was de termined that she was not on board the lost liner. She plans to be here for about six months. This is the first visit Mrs. Hoefft and Mrs. Granger have had together in five years, when Mrs. Hoefft and the children vis ited in England. Mrs. Hoefft has lived in this vicinity for about 10 years. Mrs. Hoefft served for four years in the Air Force in England and the couple met there.
