Japan, who is currently receiving na tion-wide attention as sponsor of the "Hiroshima Midens" will speak at the First Methodist cigirch, Ashland, on Friday. Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The "Hiroshima Maidens" are twenty-five girls of .Hiroshima, Japan, disfigured by the atomic blast, and now are receiving plastic surgery in the United States. Leading Figure The Rev. Mr. 'Tanimoto first became known to tWfe people of the United States when the .--story of his heroic relief efforts Cst the time of the bombing of Hiroshima were told in John Hershey's b e 1 1 seller, "Hiro shima". Since then Rev. Mr. Tanimoto has been a leading figure in the dcvelopnnt of the Hiroshima Peace center. : Congregationalism Plan Observance Rally day will be celebrated q at the Congregational Sunday school Sunday at e45 a.m. and Worldwide Communion day will be observed at the 11 a.m. wor ship. For the rally a program is planned under the oleadership of the superintendent, Mrs. Rich ard Travis. Main Service Set This Evening at Pilgrim Holiness The main service of the first meeting of the southern Ore gon zone of the Pilgrim Holiness church, being held today in Med ford, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., at the Medford Pilgrim Holin ess church. East Jackson and Bessie sts. Miss Annie Eubanks, a former missionary to the island of St. Vincent, West Indies, will be the speaker. She now directs the church's missionary societies in this country. Representatives are here from as far north as Roseburg and east to Klamath Falls. The Rev. Clarence Jackson of the latter city is chairman of the sessions. Today's meetings included a people's meeting this morning and a panel discussion this after noon. Miss Eubanks, tonight's speak er, pioneered for the church in St. Vincent area of the Caribbean. First Church of God Sets Observance, Installation Service Rally day ' will be observed Sunday at the First Church of God, Haven and Holly sts. A snack supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. by the Susannah Wesleyan service guild and the Family worship at 7 p.m. will include a "hymn sing" led by the director of music, Mrs. Adamson. New Past or Here For Advent Church; Fellowship Tonight The Rev. G. Ellsworth Wal ston arrived last week to assume pastorship of the Advent Chris tian church, Jackson and Welch st. He came here from Modesto, Calif., and until recently was pastor of a Fresno church. The Rev. Mr. Walston lives at the parsonage at 704 Welch st. In announcing events of the church the pastor stated that the Men's Fellowship will meet to day at 7 p.m., at the church. A dinner will be served previous to their meeting and Dr. Wayne Roberts will be the speaker. Regular Sunday services in clude Sunday . school at 9:45 a.m., and worship at 11 a.m. The Young people's fellowship meets Sundays at 6:30 p.m., and a preaching service is held at 7 p.m. First Baptists Set New Fall Schedule Evening services at the First Baptist church, North Central ave., at Fifth st., will be return ed to the fall schedule Sunday. Oct. 2. The Baptist leaguers for juniors through adults will be gin at 6:30 p.m., and the evang elistic service at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. James W. Neely will begin a Pastor's Bible class at 6:30 p.m. for all who may be in terested. The group will meet in the SOS class room. The pastor's topic Sunday at the 11 a.m. service will be "A Voice for God." The evening sermon service will be, "Four Things That Return Not." Medford Assembly Slates Rally Day, Children's Church Rally day will be observed in the Sunday school departments of the Medford Assembly of God, 1108 West Main st., Sunday at 9:45 a.m. A program wil be pre sented to give emphasis to the day's theme, "A Place for You." The program will launch a month-long enlargement plan for the entire Sunday school, in cooperation with Assemblies of God around the world during the month of October. Homecoming Day On Sunday Program The First Christian church will observe Homecoming day Sunday, and mark the beginning of the year's study for the Bible school. A special effort is being made to double the present at tendance. , At the morning service a new form of worship program will be introduced. A period of medita tion will be observed before the service begins and the choir will enter by way of a procession down the center aisle of the church. The choir is directed by Herbert S. Daniels. Miss Sharon Bixel will sing a solo. Mrs. Henry 'Huenergardt is -the church organist. The topic of the morning ser mon by the Rev. William C. Piper will be "Homecoming". In the evening a film, "In His Name" will be shown. Nazarenes Slate Guest Speakers Albert Gandt of the Gideons' organization will be the guest speaker in the Sunday morning worship at the First Church of the Nazarene, Holly and First sts. . The Rev. LeRoy Harris is scheduled to speak Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The pastor, the Rev. Raymond W. Hum, is currently a guest speaker in an evangelistic cru sade being conducted in Mo desto, Calif. Music for the services here will be presented by the Sanc tuary choir and a solo will be presented by Mrs. Dorothy Rees. A Fall hunters Sunday school contest got under way last week at the church.
