Holmes, route 1, box 412, Dark Hollow rd.t reported today that well drillers had struck an artesian well on their property while attempting to drill for water. Cain Reprimanded For Security Stand Washington (U.R) Two high administration officials repri manded former Republican Sen. Harry P. Cain last winter for his attacks against the administra tion's security program, it has been learned. An informed source told United Press that Presidential Assistant Sherman Adams sharp ly rebuked Cain while Atty. Gen. Herbert Brownell Jr. "mildly criticized" him. One re port said Adams gave Cain "unshirted hell." Cain, a former Washington senator, is an Eisenhower ap pointed member of the Subver sive Activities Control Board which decides which Communist or Communist front groups must register with the Attorney Gen eral. While in the Senate he was known as a conservative and close friend of Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy (R-Wis.) But Cain startled the adminis tration with a speech in Spokane last January, followed by simi lar ones later,, sharply criticiz ing the security risk program. A Heinous Thing He has accused the adminis tration of "unnecessarily de stroying individuals" with the program and has termed the At torney General's list of some 300 subversive organizations "a hei nous thing." Cain has several more speeches scheduled this summer and fall on the loyalty program. If STOKES A source close to the former Washington senator told United Press of the "dressing down" Cain received from Adams and Brownell. But in answer to an inquiry all Cain himself would say was: "I am not presently in disagreement with Mr. Adams about anything. I hold Mr. Adams in high regard. If we dif fer about a particular program, we act like everyone else." Brownell declined comment. Adams was not available for comment.
