Personal Health Service By WILLIAM BRAD I, M.D. Readers should address inquiries to: Dr. William Brady 263 El Camino, Beverly Hills, Calif. HOW TO BECOME FAMOUS Take it from 01 Doc Brady, who never lets you poor souls down unless the editors or somebody rap him on the knuckles so he has to let go and leave you suspended until more space is available the easiest way to become famous is to em ploy a good agent, the kind form erly called a press agent but lat terly known as a public relations counsellor. The difference be tween the former and the latter is upwards of S800 a month. Up to now I haven't spent a penny for such service. Why should I? Some of the best p. r. counsellors in the business . are glad to serve me out of kindness, gratitude or good will, as for in stance this Chicago cop, who probably will never forget how easy I was with him the extreme ly hot day he stopped me out on Lake Shore Drive and opined I was going a teeny-weeny bit too fast. Well, anyway, he was a fine broth of a boy and when I told him me name was Brady he waved me on with all good wishes. ' Not long afterward I heard from a New Jersey reader whose cousin from Chicago had just visited her. She says: "I have .arthritis in my knees, hands and hips. He said you had cured so many people in Chicago and I should write and ask for your prescription of vitamins and also what foods to eat." From that army of people in Chicago I have received one tes timonial, to wit: Dear Dr. Brady: What you said about rheu matiz made a deep impression on me: "In my judgment joint dis ability of more than a year's duration is usually not arthri tis at all (joint inflammation) but rheumatiz (degeneration of joint tissues) due to prolonged, probably lifelong nutritional deficiency." Having had two years of treatment with medicine and shots for so-called arthritis, I realized I was steadily getting no better. So I discontinued medical treatment and began Ca, D, B Complex and I as you suggest in your pamphlet. That was' in April, '54. Have never seen my doctor since. All of the pain ' has left my knees and I feel just fine . . . (Signed C.W. Van H.) Next time I encounter that cop out on the Drive I'll ask him if he will please try not to be so stupid. For all the information the New Jersey woman vouch safes her trouble may or may not be arthritis. In the case of the Chicago man, I'm encouraged to think, I got over the point I have been try ing so hard to put over. He's"bne in a thousand. Most of you poor geeks will continue to pay through the nose for wonder drugs and shots as long as your trick specialists and "clinic" racketeers can string you along with the phony diagnosis of "arthritis." What do I mean, phony? For one thing I mean that in nine cases out of ten the joint disability is not inflammation at all (not arthr-itis) . . . instead, it is physical degeneration.
