The three guests requested p membership applications. q Mrs. Fred Ranking and Harry Marks reported on the Jackson q ville Jubilee art show sponsored by the society. Mrs. Charles K. Todd reported O on the progress of plans for the O annual Greenwich Village Art fair, to be held in the Library park August 21. Mrs. Todd stat- ed that the paintings would be O numbered and the public will judge the exhibit. Artists are asked to have their exhibits arranged in the park q by 12 noon on the day of the show. O Mr. and Mrs. Alex Tummers. owners of Mon Desir inn, were made honorary members of the O society. It was announced that Med ford branch, American Associa- 33 tion of University Women, will sponsor the annual fall show held each year in observance of r. National Art week. '.j A number of paintings were selected for exhibit. A local scene, "The Meadow" by Clar ence Henderson of Eagle Point will be "picture of the month r- for Barker's store and a work ? by Mrs. Todd entitled "Serenity" will be shown at Purucker's 2 Piano house. .a .An oil by Mrs. Myrtle Schoen berg entitled "Carmel Beach" 5 and a watercolor by Mrs. Blanche Johnson called "The ra Palomino" will be shown in Burgess Paint store. 0 The society wishes to correct San error in last month's report ? of works selected for exhibit by stating that the picture exhibited !in Purucker's for August is ""When Day Is Done," an oil by Mrs. Effie White, Camp White. The group plans to continue -meeting at the dining inn until "further notice. Mrs. Heeter, new commander, was the installing officer. The chapter and auxiliary held a picnic August 7 at TouVelle ?park. Council of Blind To Hold Meeting Jackson County chapter. As sociated Council of the Blind, will meet Sunday, August 14, at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. BA. J. Munro, 4748 South Pacific highway. A short business meet ing, program and refreshments are planned. Everyone visually handicapped or interested in the welfare of such persons is cor dially invited to attend. Church Women Plan Meetings Next Week Women's circle of Zion Luth eran church will meet next week. Mary circle will meet Tues day, August 16, at 10 a.m. at the home of Mrs. Ray Alder, 740 Dakota avenue. Mrs. Leonard Olson, Old Stage road, will be hostess for a meeting of Esther circle Wednesday, August 17 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting of Ruth circle has been set for Thursday, August 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Theo Thompson, 26 Newtown street. Former Resident At Club Meeting Thomas Munds, formerly of Medford and now of Lakeview, was a visitor for a meeting of Medford Duplicate Bridge club Tuesday night. Mr. Munds and his partner, Don Reverman, took first place, scoring 60 Vi points with the Howell duplicate movement. Second went to William Isaacs and Roy Pruitt with 53 points and third to John Solheim and Emery Wheat, 52V2 points. Mrs. T. J. Gold Hill Women To Ship Clothing Gold Hill Woman's Christian Alliance, an affiliate of Gold Hill First Christian church, held its regular monthly meeting in the home of Mrs. George Andrews, Forty Nine Pines motel on Lamp man road. Three Honored At Dinner Party Gold Hill A barbecue dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Cogswell the eve ning of July 31st in observance of the birthdays of Mrs. Cogs well, Harry Newnham and Les ter Parker. The three birthdays fall on August 1 and 2. Seven teen guests attended and gifts were distributed by Linda Park er, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs.: Lester Parker. Attending the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Newnham, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Parker, son David and daughter Linda, Jim mie Burns of Bandon, Ore., Mrs. Margaret Cogswell, Long Beach, Calif., mother of John Cogswell, Mr. and Mrs. Veltie Biles, Rogue River, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hart, Californians Here To Visit Relatives Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Nass, with their sons, Dorothy, Bobby and David, Walnut Creek, Calif.,' left Wednesday after visiting since the first of the week-with the E.
