I have a summer job, doing con struction work, and I make good money. During the winter I have week end work, and sometimes I go out to stay with one of the neighbors' chil Dr. Hrrlock week. I don't to work, as I dren during the have much time hope to go lo college and I need my time for my studies. Now. my problem is dating. "I like to have dales occasion ally. I find if I don't I am out of things, as all the fellows in my class go on dates and most have steady girlfriends. But dating is so expensive that I sometimes wonder if it is worth it. I ask a girl for a date, and before I know it I have spent almost all my earnings for the weeks to take her out. I am not doing much dating this summer be cause I want to save for next winter. Would it be cheaper to go steady? Have you any sug gestions on how to cut down the cost of dating?" (A) I am afraid I haven't much advice that will help you. Girls of today are used to a fairly ex pensive kind of dating, and they expect this from any boy re gardless of how much money he has to spend. As for going steady, I question whether this would save you much. If you went steady you would be expected to date more often. The girl would expect you to take her to dances, movies, parties, and athletic contests. Then you would have to drop in somewhere for a snack after wards, and there would be flow ers for dances and gifts for special occasions. I doubt if you would save anything. One thing you might do is get one or two boys who are not go ing steady to team up with you i - - . r . Would You Like to Form A ROSICRUC1AN Sunshine Circle A.M.O.R.C.? You could invite the girls for a movie and perhaps have one of your mothers have the crowd in for an after-the-movie snack. If one family would supply the car and the other the refreshments, you could cut quite a bit off the amount you would spend for a single date. (COPYRIGHT 1955. GENERAL FEATURES . CORP.)
