t- " ' ' 1 ' 1 1 ' ': " f ! "" ... i g ' , The summer months bring many guests who visit relatives and friends and enjoy the recreation pro vided by southern Oregon's lakes, streams and mountains. Among the visitors here this month were the Rev. and Mrs. Joseph T. Boulet and three sons of Richland Center, Wise, who have been guests of Mrs. Boulet's parents. Dr. and Mrs. W. W. P. Holt, 1 1 Corning court. The sons are Toby, (on floor at left) Marc and Francis (standing by his father.) The Rev. Mr. Boulet is an Episcopal minister. Dr. Holt, honored rec ently by fellow physicians in Medford, has practiced in Jackson county since 1906. Recently in Medford for a brief stay were Lt. Col. Albert C. Gaddis, (at left), Mrs. Gaddis and their two children, Nancy and Larry. They visited the colonel's father. Earl C. Gaddis, 815 East Jackson boule vard, long-time Medford resident and a former mayor of the city. The officer and his family came here from Tokyo, Japan, where he had been on duty at the headquarters of the Far East Command and have left for California to visit Mrs. Gaddis' family. Colonel Gaddis, who will be stationed next at Norton Air Force base in California, will report at Washington, D.C., in the meantime. 4 '"r"i?-l f& 1 -31 ' " Miss Helen Halboth, Le Mars, la., is in Medford as a guest of her brother and sister-in-law. Dr. and Mrs. Oscar J. Halboth, 2419 Hillcrest road. Miss Halboth, who teaches In an elementary school in Le Mars, will remain in Medford until the middle of August. They are guests of the Meyers' son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meyer, 1532 South Stage road, and other relatives in Medford and Phoenix. Last week end the two families traveled to Crescent City. - 1 ' i "jF Wi i ... . 7V "r :..:-WV-'-S'S rf - i ,4 Kf'fili J Another visitor in the city at present is Mrs. Ford Knytsen, Astoria, who is spending a few weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Ferguson, Evelyn apartments. Mrs. Knutsen's daughters, Barbara and Mary, are at Low Echo, Girl Scout camp at Lake o' Woods, for two weeks. kJI-.Jj&. ir J Of interest was the recent visit of Frank Hemingway, Bel Air, Calif., well known radio commentator, and Mrs. Hemingway. Pictured are (left to right) Mrs. Dinwiddie Groves, former screen and stage actress and now a Kansas City socialite, Mrs. Hemingway, Mrs. Kenneth Swartz, Medford, Mr. Hemingway, Dinwiddie Groves Jr., and Miss Fredricka Finley, Medford. Mrs. Groves, Mrs. Hemingway and Miss Finley are sisters, and the two visitors, former residents, were guests of their father, William Swartz, 121 Genessee street, and their brother ond sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Km Swartz, Old Military road. . Visitors from New York state are Mr. and Mrs. John R. MacArthur and small daughter, Laurie, who are spending a few weeks with Mrs. MacArthur's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Ruhl, 2404 East Main street. The MacArthurs made the trip west by motor, with stops en route to visit relatives and friends, and will leave soon to return to theu home in Bronville. The visitors have divided their time between the Ruhl home and a cottage on the Rogue River. (All photos by Brainerd).
