Wenzell, left, and his attor ney, Arthur Dean, turn over documents as Wenzell appeared to be quizzed by the Senate monopoly sub committee on his dual role in the Dixon-Yates contract negotiations. The subcommittee received evidence that Wenzell advised the Dixon-Yates combine the same time he was a Budget Bureau consultant on the matter. Eagle Point Council Story is Corrected Eagle Point Water rates have not been lowered in Eagle Point as was incorrectly report ed in the Mail Tribune last week. Only the water hook-up rates have been changed, accord ing to Mrs. Minnie Hinson, city recorder. The water connection rates for private homes and businesses have been standardized with those now in effect in Medford. In the same story, it was also ''reported that the new fire truck cost $13,000, and that the cost of the West Main st. improve ments came to $1,800. These sums are the balances left, and not the full price, Mrs. Hinson said. She added that these are the only debts the city had re maining from last year. Fire Destroys Six Dewey Farm Buildings Pawling, N.Y. (U.PJ Fire destroyed st structures on the Dutches comity farm of for mer Gov. Thomas E. Dewey early Friday. Damage was not immediately estimated but firemen said the fire swept through three barns, two silos and a milk shed. The main house was not threatened. Fire companies from Pawling and Dover Plains in Dutchess county, dhd Putnam Lake and Patterson in Putnam county fought the blaze which started shortly before midnight. Littrell Will Make Highway Commission Tour State Rep. A. E. Littrell, Med ford, will take part in the state highway commission's second 1955 inspection trip of highways and state parks, he said Satur day. The trip will start July 11. Littrell is a member of the highway interim committee of the state legislature. The schedule for July 11 in cludes the new Columbia river highway and adjacent parks in the Columbia river gorge, the Emigrant Hill section of U. S. Highway 30, and Emigrant Springs state park. The group will stop overnight at Wallowa lake. At Wallowa On July 12, the group will In spect Wallowa Lake" state park and other parks and highways! en route to Ontario. New loca tions on U. S. 30 between Baker and Ontario will be inspected. The group will inspect U. S. 20 and U. S. 395 en route to Lakeview on July 13. On the fourth day, they will travel from Lakeview over the Fremont highway, and will inspect the Warm Springs highway, Mt. Hood loop, and Cloud Cap rec reation area. Taking part in the trip will be representatives of the press, members of the highway interim committee, parks advisory com mittee, state parks superintend ent, and representatives of the Bureau of Public Roads, U. S. Forest service, and Oregon Auto mobile club. They will travel 1,206 miles during the four days. 2000 Baby Chicks Die In Hatchery Blaze Portland (U.R) An estimated 2000 baby chicks burned to death' in a fire at the Progressive Hatchery here late Thursday.
