SIX MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Friday. July 8, 1955 Increase in Assets Reported by Local Savings-Loan Assn. ' An increase in assets of more than $1,200,000 since June 30, 1954, has been reported by the Jackson County Federal Savings and Loan association. W. J. Warner, president, said the increase resulted from an in crease of more than $900,000 in total savings in the association during the past year. -Since July 1, 1954, the as sociation made some 580 loans, totaling S2,378,622.94, according to John Pletsch, secretary. This is an increase of some $845,000 in mortgage loans for the year, Earnings on mortgage loans made it possible for the associa tion to continue the 3 per cent dividend to investors, and divi dends paid on June 30 totaled $116,997.65. Both officers attributed the in crease to the rapid growth of southern Oregon, and Jackson "county in particular, in popula tion and new industries. To as sist in this growth, Pletsch said, the association will continue to help contractors begin homes in the fall so that men may work under cover during the winter months. This program, very suc cessful last year, helped make the construction of homes a year around business in Jackson county, he said.
