Those who made the trip are Jacque Chestnut, Linda Medcalf, Janice Taylor, Mary Margaret Barr, Donna Unger, Joan Seitz, Sara Hinkle, Treva Toenniges, Ann Younger and their leader, Mrs. Rufus Younger. Two guests of the group also were on the tour. They were Joanne Til ton and Judy Tilton. Return Mr. and Mrs. Cole Holmes, 16 Ross court, return ed this week from Monterey, Calif., where they attended graduation exercises at the Navy post-graduate school. Their son, Lt. Robert E. Holmes, received his master of science degree in engineering electronics at the ex ercises. He and his wife and their two daughters now are on a five-week camping trip in western national parks. Lieuten ant Holmes will report next to Oletha, Kans., for transitional training for eight weeks and then will go to a permanent sta tion at Alameda, Calif., Navy Air station. Simcox and her sister, Mrs. Del la Hostetter, with Mrs. Simcox es grandson, Leslie Lemme, all of Sioux Falls, S. D., are visit ing at the home of another grandson, Fred Simcox, his wife and their daughters, Karen and Nancy, at 940 South Ivy st. Mrs. Simcox is a great-grandmother of the two girls and it is the firse time that they have met her. Hay Burns Firemen put out a small fire in loose hay in a barn on the W. C. Ricks prop erty, 735 Midway rd., about 5 p.m. yesterday. They said there was no damage. Two pumper trucks were dispatched to the re ported barn fire. On Trip Mr., and Mrs. C. Lyall Fidler, his niece, Miss Ernestine Fidler, who is here for the summer from Nebraska, and Mrs. Fidler's mother, Mrs. Marie Strong, left today for Brookings on the coast where they wilf be on a business and pleasure trip for several days. 20-80 Club Members of the Jacksonville Presbyterian church 20-80 club will meet for a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 25, at the church rooms. All salesmen in terested are invited. A picnic meeting will be planned. Returning Wayne Harris is returning to Medford to live after being away since 1947. He will be associated with Gates Furniture store. Mr. and Mrs. Harris and their two sons, Ralph, a second grade student, and Kenny, who is pre-school age, will live for the present at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harris, 430 O'Gara st. Boy Released A 16-year-old Medford boy was released to the custody of his parents last night after questioning by the city police. The boy admitted the theft of two bicycles from Haw thorne park this month, officers said. 4 ' Catches Limit Bill Wert of Trail is reported to have caught a limit catch of trout Wednesday in the Rogue River below Young's riffle. Fishing is said to be good on the upper Rogue and a number of others have been making limit catches this week. In the Applegate district, the three year board term went to J. Robert Tolle, the four year term to A. L. Hoffman, and the five year term to Henry W. Head. Frank Edmondson won the three year, Earl Remsen, four year, and Douglas Finch, the five year terms in the Butte Falls election. WALL STREET New York U.R Industrial shares continued to push further into the stratosphere today. The industrial average set a new all-time high at a level nearly 120 points higher than a year ago and 69 points higher than the 1929 record. - Railroad issues made a better percentage raise than the indus trials and reached their best level since Oct. 26, 1929. Utili ties gained a few cents. Net gains ranged to more than 7 points and the best per former of the whole market was one of the bluest of the blue chips, Du Pont, which reached a new high at 217. That rise alone was a main factor in the spurt in the industrial average. Dow-Jones final stock ave rages: 30 industrials 448.82, up 1.45; 20 railroads 163.26 un changed; 15 utilities 64.41 off 0.03; 65 stocks 165.07, up 0.27. Sales today were about 2,900, 000 shares. ' , MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE FIFTEEN Psychiatrist Talks To Peace Officers Dr. John Waterman, state psy ciatrist and head of the Southern Oregon Child Guidance clinic, was the speaker at the monthly meeting of the Southern Oregon Peace Officers association meet ing last night, according to Glea son Crowell, president. The dinner meeting was held jointly with the Siskiyou county, California, Peace ; Officers asso ciation. A total of 40 people at tended, including 12 California officers. Miss Lucy Knox, a con sulting nurse on mental illness from the department of health in Portland, and County Judge Rodney Keating were guests. Joint meetings are held with California peace officers every other month to insure better co operation in law enforcement on "both sides of the line," Crowell said. The next meeting will be held sometime during the middle of next month. Hospital Benefit Barbecue Set Again Another buffalo barbecue and picnic, similar to the successful event staged last year, will be held Aug. 13 on behalf of the Sacred Heart hospital, it was -announced today. The barbecue, which drew several thousand people last year, will raise funds for the rebuilding and redecoration of the hospital's pediatrics depart ment. It will again be at the Elks picnic grounds on the Rogue river. Again a feature of the picnic will be a baby show, conducted under the auspices of Provi dence Guild. Cloverdale Mill Destroyed by Fire Cloverdale, Ore. OJ.R) A fire believed to have been caus ed by sparks from a trashburher destroyed a small lumber mill east of here Tuesday night. The mill was owned by Ian Mortimer. Some machinery was saved, but the carriage, two el ectric motors and one diesel mo tor were destroyed. The fire was discovered at about 11 p.m. by Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Doyle, who were pass ing by. Mortimer said he was unable to fix an estimate of damage He said he planned to rebuild the mill, but probably in a dif ferent location.
