Rogue Chapter Of Secretaries Installs Officers With Mrs. Jeanne Brown, re tiring president, as installing of ficer, Mrs. Kathryn Thomas be came sixth president of Rogue River chapter, National Secre taries association, in candlelight ceremonies performed Thursday evening, June 9, at the Medford hotel. Dinner preceded the rites, at which Miss Gladys Goetz, re tiring second vice-president, as sisted. Other officers installed for the 1955-56 club year are Mrs. Dar lyne Rudd, first vice-president; Miss Aileen Tamney, second vice-president; Mrs. Iola Russell, recording secretary; Mrs. Ann Brown, corresponding secretary, and Mrs. Kay Jandreau, treas urer. Sunday, June 19, IMS MreroTO (OHzaom mail Medford Jaycettes Plan Swim Party; Exchange Recipes Plans were completed at a meeting of Medford Jaycettes Wednesday evening for a swim ming party and picnic to be held July 6 at Twin Plunges in Ashland. Mrs. Wilmer W. Rob ertson appointed Mrs, Bob Hart as reservation chairman. . , Members may bring guests and may contact Mrs. Hart at 2-9264 for reservations. Mrs. Calvin Howsley reported that magazines had been de livered to Sacred Heart hospital and reminded members to ..con tinue to bring their magazines for this project. Mrs. Howsley, Mrs. Hart, Mrs. Vern Collins, Mrs. Lyle DeKon ing, Mrs. Robert Boyer, Mrs. Ron James and Mrs. Bruce Cyphers under the chairman ship of Mrs. W. W. Smith, con ducted a baked food sale yester day. The evening's program was concluded with a "favorite recipe" exchange. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Cal vin McKibben. ' Group Announces Overnight Ride - Reservations should be made not later than .Wednesday, June 22 for an overnight ride planned by the Medford Trail Riders for Saturday, June 25, those in charge have announced. They may be made by telephoning Medford 3-4816 or Ashland 9-4965. A hot dinner, breakfast and package lunch will be served in buckaroo fashion, and dancing, both square and round, will be a diversion. A portable dance floor in the out-of-doors will be used. H. H. Herrin of Ashland and Vince Swinney of Medford will guide groups from their, respec tive areas. Cadet Lt Foust Cadet Lieutenant Honored at Party John Foust, son of Mr? and Mrs. Fred Foust, 610 Experi ment' Station road, Medford, was honored at a buffet dinner Wednesday evening for . which Mrs.' Clyde Fichtner was the hostess, assisted by members of Medford Squadron, Civil Air Patrol. Young Foust will leave July 16 for Chile under , an ex change Civilian Air Patrol pro gram. He is a Medford high school student and a cadet lieu tenant with the Medford CAP. The student is one of three Oregon cadets chosen for this program. He was presented a gift by the group and the evening was spent in square dancing. . Introduced at the party were Lt. Bette E. Miller, coordinator of women's activities, and Cadet Lt. Janice Stevens.. Women Receive Nursing Degrees From University Two young women from the valley were graduated at recent ceremonies at the University of Portland college of nursing. Both received bachelor of science degrees in nursing. They are Miss Joyce Gosch,. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Gosch, 243 North Ivy street, and Miss Nanette Furry, daughter of Mr.' and Mrs. Raymond Furry of Phoenix. Miss Gosch is a St. Mary's high school graduate and - re ceived the award for outstand ing leadership in her" class. She also received a scholarship from the Business and Professional Women's club. Miss Furry was a 1951 Phoe nix high school graduate, and at the recent graduation she re ceived cum laude honors. At the ceremonies from here were Mrs. . Furry's parents, a brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Popow and their daughter, Darilyn, and Mrs.. Vivienne Cecot of Med ford; Miss Gosch's parents, and her sisters, Mr. W. E. Driscoll Jr., and Miss Pat Gosch, and Mrs. Robert Messer, all of Med ford. Also there for the occa sion was Mrs. Gosch's grand mother, Mrs. Hans Gosch, who made the trip to Portland from her home in Randall, Minn. John L.
