j ' 7 ' 2JJZJ Mr. ami Mrs. JimmM Dan Hall (Brainard photo) Hall -Lavin Ceremony Held In First Methodist Church Central Point Miss Donna Louise Lavin became the bride of Jimmie Dean Hall, June 4, in a 7:30 o'clock evening candlelignt service at Medford First Methodist church. The Rev. Raymond Balcomb read the double ring ceremony. The couple was to ar rive todav at Sacramento. Calif., where they will live while the bridegroom is stationed there with the Air Force. He is a flight engineer. The bride, a 1953 Crater High school graduate, is a daughter ofJ Mrs. Isabel Ross. 2685 .Elliott avenue, and Alex Lavin. Tipton, Calif. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bee Hall of Wood- burn, who were in Medford for the occasion. The honor attendants were Mrs. Archie Quackenbush, Sac ramento, a sister of the bride, and Miss Darlene Bishop of Cen tral Point. Bridesmatrons were Mrs. Jack Burns, Mrs. Kenneth Trautman of Grants Pass., Mrs. John Davis and Mrs. Kenneth Robertson. Shirley Ann Quackenbush, Sacramento, a niece of the bride, was flower girl. Dean . Brown was best man and ushers .were Robert Swin dler, Leo Cellura, John Howell and Doug Gibeson, the latter an uncle of the bride. Mr. Lavin was here from Tip ton to give his daughter in mar riage. Her gown of imported scalloped galloon lace over satin and gossamer nylon tulle was designed with a queen anne col lar. Her juliet cap was trimmed with pearls and held her im ported french illusion veil. Her bouquet was of baby pink rose buds with lily of the valley. The bride also wore a string of pearls which belonged to the late Mrs. J. E. Gibeson, her grandmother, and which were piven five years ago by Mrs. Gibeson to the bride's sister on Couple To Marry 1 In July Service; Honor Bride-Elect Miss Sonja Jorgenson. was guest of honor at a bridal shower Thursday evening at the Lester Harris home, 707-South Oakdale avenue. Miss Sue Har ris was hostess. Fourteen guests attended and Miss Jorgenson was presented gifts. The honored guest is the bride-elect of Robert Swindler. Their wedding date is set for July 23 at St. Mark's Episcopal church. The refreshment table was decorated with a bridal bouquet and candles. Miss Jorgenson until recently was employed at the Surge Dairy Supply store. She is a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Marx, Kings highway, and has made her home with them. the day of her wedding. The honor attendants wore lilac colored nylon gowns and their flowers were nosegays of pink and white Ester Reed daisies. The bridesmatrons wore pink nylon gowns and their flowers matched those of the other at tendants. The flower girl also was dressed in pink nylon and carried a pink and ' white nose-gay. Church decorations were of pink and white gladiolus and white iris. Pew ends were marked with pink net and white bells. Miss Jo Ann Henderson of Eagle Point furnished the wed ding songs. Spring ilowers with pink can dles and ivy decorated the church rooms for the reception. Mrs. Ross wore a pale blue lace and chiffon dress with white accessories .and Mrs. Hall was dressed in navy blue and her accessories were pink. Their corsages were of pink rosebuds. Mrs. Lorene Babcock poured coffee and Miss Gwen Gibeson, Yreka, Calif., cut the cake. Pre siding at the punch bowl was Miss Henderson, and Mrs. Doris Antonson had charge of the guest book. The coffee service was loaned by Mrs. Lynch of Central Point. The couple made their wed ding trip to Los Angeles and Palm Springs, Calif. The bridegroom-elect is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Stuckey, of Ashland. The wed ding date has been set for Sep tember 9 and the ceremony will be held at the Ashland Metho dist church. Miss Mallon is a 1952 gradu ate of Crater High school and is a past honored queen of Job's Daughters, Central Point. At SOCE she is an elementary edu cation student majoring in music. The bride-to-be also is secre tary of the Future Teachers of America, secretary of the SOCE choir and vice-president of Sus anne Homes hall. Mr. Stuckey is a- secondary mathemetician and is majoring in mathematics. He is president of Future Teachers of America and vice-president of Future Teachers of Oregon. (Landis-Shangle photo) Group Attends DUV Convention; Miss Cox Here Attending the department convention of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, held in Eugene, June 14 16, were several members of Elta Duel Hubbs Tent of Med ford. They were Miss Ora Cox of Bushnell, 111., Mrs. C. C. Fer ris, Mrs: Fred Daugherty, Mrs. Elmer Gott, and Miss Sadie De La Mater. Miss Cox, a past national president of the D.U.V., installed the new department officers. Mrs. Daugherty was elected Council Member No. 3. Miss : Cox, who represented the national DUV president at the convention, returned with the group to Medford for a visit with friends here. She is a guest of Mrs. -George B. Canode, Crown avenue.
