An extremely unusual fam Union To Ask More Of American Motors Detroit (U.R) The CIO United Auto Workers said yesterday it would ask for a greater wage guarantee from American Mo tors Corp. then it received from Ford and General Motors "be cause this company needs it more." Leonard Woodcock, UAW vice President in charge of Ameri can Motors, said the union would ask for a full guarantee of 100 per cent of pay for 52 weeks a year. This was the union's origi nal guaranteed wage demand from Ford and General Motors , but the guarantee was whittled down to between 60 and 65 per cent for 26 weeks in the final agreements with the two auto motive giants. Heirs File Suit Against Pierce Widow La Grande (U.R) Heirs and co-executors of the will of the late former Oregon governor and Congressman Walter M. Pierce have filed suit against his wid ow, Cornelia Marvin Pierce, in Union County Circuit Court here. The suit asks for a declaratory judgment on an agreement Mrs. Pierce was purported to have entered into with her husband whereby she acquired title to Pierce's two farms. It also asks that Mrs. Pierce be restrained from selling or conveying prop erty held under the. purported agreement until the proper dis posal of income can be deter mined. Plaintiffs in the suit included Pierce's four daughters: Lucile Pierce Hall and 1 Edith Pierce Whitten, of Portland; Lorraine Pierce Stadelman of The Dalles, and Helen Pierce Wilson of New Jersey. Two Trains Kill Transient at Eugene Eugene (U.R) A 56-year-old transient identified as Charles Dewey Stanton was killed at a Eugene rail crossing yesterday when he was struck by two trains. Lane County Coroner Fred Buell and Eugene police said the man was walking along the tracks with his eyes downcast and failed to see an approach ing passenger train. He jumped aside just as the passenger train reached him but into the path of a freight train on an adjacent track. He jumped a second time, again into the path of the pass enger train which struck him and hurled him under the freight train. NIGHT SHIFT New. Britain, Conn. (U.R) John Yurko began to think he had found a bottomless pit. He told police he worked on an excavation each day, but the hole never seemed to get any bigger. Police learned that some one had been shoveling dirt back into the hole each night after Yurko went home.
