(International Soundphoto) PTA Delegates Open Convention Chicago (U.R) Three thou sand delegates from all over the nation today opened the three day convention at the National Congress of Parents and Teach ers. The dedication of a new na tional PTA headquarters tonight was expected to be the highlight of the meeting. Every state in the union and Hawaii were to be represented by the delegates attending the 59th session of the group. The PTA has 9,400,000 members. Spokesmen said they expected no controversial resolutions to be introduced and no policy changes were anticipated. The new headquarters will be dedicated with a special program at the Civic Opera House, where the main conference sessions are scheduled. The $750,000 building was con structed with funds collected across the nation from 39,000 lo cal PTA units. The convention will name a new national president, expected to be Mrs. Rollin Brown, Los An geles, Calif., who was nominated for the post. USED UNFINISHED FURNITURE THEY'RE JUST LIKE NEW Auto-Truck-Bus Crash Kills California Man Blythe, Calif U.R) One man was killed instantly and his passenger injured seriously early today when a Phoenix bound Greyhound bus collided with an automobile and a heavy truck. California Highway Patrolman Jack Hannum identified the dead man as Robert Green, about 60, of East Blythe. Green's passenger, Lucy M. Lewis, 58, also of East Blythe, and the 11 bus passengers were taken to Palo Verde hospital. Hannum said he was unable immediately to determine the cause of the accident which oc curred at the intersection of U.S. highways 95 and 60-70. He said Green's car burst into flames after the impact, while the bus and the truck shot off the road way. None of the vehicles overturned.
