FOURTEEN MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Tuesday, April 19, 1953 Congressmen See Victory by Ike In 1956 Election Washington (U.R) Three Republican congresmen told one of President Eisenhower's aides at a White House conference that they are convinced the President "will run and win in 1956." The three, Reps. Albert W. Cretella (Conn.), Alvain R. Bush (Pa.) and H. R. Gross (la.), ex pressed their views to Homer H. Gruenther, a presidential assist ant on legislative liaison. They were called to the White House yesterday for a lunch confer ence and "a general discussion" on a variety of subjects. Cretella said the discussion touched on Republican party unity, the postal pay raise bill, the farm program and other do mestic matters. "The discussion was not pin pointed to any particular sub ject" Cretella said. "But there vas optimism about Mr. Eisen hower's popularity. We ex pressed the conviction that Mr. Eisenhower will run, and win, Congressman Reed Confined To Hospital Rome (U.R) Daniel A. Reed (R-N.Y.), hospitalized here be cause of a heart attack Sunday, will need a mortth or more of absolute rest "because of his age," his doctor said today. Dr. Giorgio Matolli, one of Italy's leading heart specialists, said the 79-year-old congressman was in "fair condition" after spending a comfortable night. Six Bids Received for Timberline Operation Portland (U.R) Lloyd Olson, supervisor of the Mt. Hood na tional forest, said today six bids have ben received from would be operators of Timberline lodge. He said names of bidders would not be released until there was time to study the bids. The lodge was closed Feb. 18 over failure of payment of elec tric bills. in 1955 against whoever the Democrats nominate. I think if Mr. Truman makes any more demagogic speeches such as he did Saturday night, it will arouse Mr. Eisenhower's de termination to run again." . f V"" ". They're high compression engines. They're built to squeeze more power out of every drop of the high octane, gasolines they require. But high octane alone will not keep these engines delivering their full power. They must be protected against the harmful effects of deposits that build up in combustion chambers. The reason is this: ' When your engine warms up, these deposits warm up, too glow red hot. And these glowing particles act like hot coals ignite the gasoline mix ture ahead of time . . . before the pistons reach proper firing position. This is called pre-firing and means that power works against you instead of for you. In addition, these same deposits have another power-wasting effect: They foul spark plugs, causing your engine to miss. Engineers will tell you there's nothing more wasteful of power and gasoline than pre-firing and spark plug miss. But there is an answer there's one high octane gasoline that gives you all the advantages of high octane without the power-crippling effects of these deposits Shell Premium Gasoline with TCP. TCP; the Shell-developed addi tive, fireproofs the deposits so that they no longer cause pre-firing. No longer can they glow red hot and ignite the gasoline mixture. And TCP stops spark plug "miss," too. Your spark plugs do the job they are supposed to do. Start getting the full power, built into your engine. Get Shell Premium with TCP. It's the most powerful gasoline your car can use! 'Shell's trademark for this unique gasoline additive developed by Shell Research.
