The committee wrote the com mission saying it supported the game body's stand "that only in the most extreme circumstan es should deer be artifically fed." Rep. Robert J. Steward of Baker county, a member of the committee, said the letter was intended to, back the commis sion against "minority group" pressure. BOY SCOUTS Troop 13 ul-yrttiica now is the time for Members of Boy Scout Troop 13, sponsored by the Presby terian church, elected Reggie Breeze as their senior patrol leader at elections held Tuesday evening. Ray Konopasek was elected assistant senior , patrol leader; Ernest Pathmann, scribe; Bill Williams, librarian, and Kenny Durkee, quartermaster. Mr. and Mrs. Al Depuy of Cedar st., have traded their city property for the ranch home of Mrs. Mae Hoffman on Evans Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. (Buzzy) Webb are parents of a 7Vfc pound girl born March 18 in a Medford hospital. Regular meeting of the Mar iners club will be held March 28 at Fellowship hall. An option was taken the past week on 200 feet of land fronting on Oak st. A congregational meeting will be called in the near future to consider purchas ing the property. A business meeting of the women association of Hope Presbyterian church was held in the home of Mrs. Ernest San deen of West Evans Creek on March 22 with the following ladies present: Mrs. F. (U.R) Now the antenna 'for the automobile radio can be produced to match the colors of the car. A plastics company here has produced what it calls the "Dura-ramic" antenna. It is made of fibre glass. It can be bent double without breaking and having no metal, will not rust or corrode. Old Shasta, six miles west of Redding, was settled in 1849 by miners from the American and Feather rivers and emigrants from Oregon. Whether more persons are al lergic to this and that nowadays than in the past is debatable. From a casual view one readily infers that a larger portion of the population is affected today, but this offhand impression is in validated by two pertinent facts , first, that physicians today diagnose allergy in thousands of cases which formerly would not ' have been so recognized; and sec ond, that sophomorons who have learned to say "definitely" when they mean yes, no or I believe so have learned also to allude smartly to "complexes," "ulcers" and "allergies." This is a dinky little piece but hard to write. I have dawdled for many hours over it, trying to decide whether it would do some people good yet do others no harm-. Often, says Dr. Warren T. Vaugh, M. D., Primer of Allergy, nasal allergy is erroneously re garded as sinus trouble. A per son who says "I catch cold all the time" or "I hardly get over one cold before I get another" is like ly to be suffering from nasal al lergy. In nasal allergy the secre tion is more likely to be thin and watery, while in sinus disease it is more apt to be thick, whitish or yellowish. It is in just such cases of chronic sinus trouble that I rec ommend correction of calcium A local dog that can sing the national anthem without missing a single word has been turned down by Hollywood. VWsiJU PHONE 2-4762 deficiency by supplementing the ordinary diet with a daily ration of calcium and D, as I explain in Little Lesson 26, The Calcium Shortage, for which booklet send 25c and stamped, self-addressed envelope. This is not medicine, not treatment. It is merely bet ter nutrition and it must be fol lowed for months or every day the year around, at least until the everyday diet is planned to in sure an adequate intake of cal cium and vitamin D. Frequently I hear from some knucklehead that he has "tried taking calcium" as he says I sug gested, and it did no good. I do not suggest that you "try" cal cium. I suggest that you eat it every day for not less than three or four months, and along with it of course a sufficient amount of sunshine vitamin D to insure assimilation and normal metab olism of the calcium. That vita min D promotes calcium utiliza tion in the body is a bit of phy siology which some doctors have not yet learned.
