1U mm mm m Hi gh School Speech Conference Ratings Name Local Schools Ashland High school stu dents from communities through out southern Oregon shared top honors at the annual SOC speech conference held on the SOC campus last week. . Ratings of "excellent" went to debate teams from Grants Pass, North Bend, Medford, Cra ter 'high school and Ashland. Students from those schools and Roseburg, Henley and Talent were given ratings from "excel lent" to "superior" in extemp oraneous speaking, radio speak ing, poetry reading, oratory, im promptu speaking and after din ner speaking. Medford's debate team of Bruce and Dan Kellington rat ed ' excellent. Excellent ratings went to Tim Hillerman and Pat Hanson in extempore, excellent plus to Don Kellington in radio speaking, excellent rating to Bruce Kellington in impromptu speaking and excellent rating to Bob Bright in after dinner speak arfg. , ; . -Crater Students Rated "' : Crater Highr . school, Central Pdint, rated excellent in debate, with Mildred Gail and Nathan Douthit. Douthit rated excellent in extempore and Miss Gail, su-r perior. Miss Gail rated excellent iij poetry and superior in im promptu. Douthit also rated ex cellent in impromptu.
