FOURTEEN MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Wednesday, January 28, 1933 Mothers' March Plans for Monday In Final Stages The Mothers March on Polio, scheduled as the climaxing event on the 1955 March of Dimes campaign, is in the final stages of preparation and will be held next Monday from 7 to 8 p.m., according to Mrs. Lew Miles, city chairman for the event. During that hour marching mothers will call at every home in th ritv and manv rural areas where a lighted porch light sig nifies an invitation for the block mother to call. For apartment and hotel dwellers, the signal will be a handkerchief or shoe tied to the door knob. Eniix City Divided Mrs. Miles explained that the entire city has been mapped out into districts and many rural areas also have been organized. Each district is headed by a cap tain who in turn has selected a mother to cover each block in the district. Calls will be made only at those houses which ex tend the invitation by a lighted porch light, the chairman em rthastzed. Persons who wish to give and who have not been called upon bv 8:30 p.m. on Monday are asked to telephone 2-5002, the St. Marks Episcopal church par ish house, and a car will be dis patched to pick up the contri bution. . : Areas To Be Covered The areas to be , covered are bounded by the following streets: Pacific highway north to Beall lane, Merriman rd. to Ta ble Rock rd., to the airport rd. and Biddle rd. to the Crater Lake highway, Ross lane to KMED and back on Sage rd. to McAndrews rd., Cherry st., Loz ier lane, Oakgrove rd.. Casino rd., Perrydale ave., and roads within that area between Bel linger rd. and Jacksonville high way, the area between Myers lane, including King's highway. South Peach st, all of Orchard Home dr., Thomas rd. extend ing to Jacksonville Phoenix highway, Barnett rd. to North Phoenix rd., including Ellen dale dr., South Modoc ave.. and Murphy lane, Spring st. to Mo doc ave., including Eastover Tr. and Country Club Estates. Bid die rd. to Morrow rd., Corona 9v tn Crater Lake hizhwav and Delta Waters. rd., and the Grandview Market area. Rex Harrison Divorce Rumors Meet Silence London U.FD -Rumors in the United States that Rex Harrison and Lili Palmer have separated met a wall of silence today in London where they are starring together in the play "Bell, Book and Candle.", " ' The rumor could not be pin ned down immediately. It was apparently based on a London newspaper gossip col umnist's report last week that the husband and wife acting team was seen at a night club sitting at separate tables, he with another woman, she with - an other man. :.:.;:.:;'"t-'-v,'.'; Neither Harrison, 46, nor Miss Palmer, 40, could be reached ; directly for comment. Service Officer Says Fee Due for Papers -Veterans, who file on or after Feb. 1 for certificates in place of lost separation papers will be . required to pay a fee, ac cording to Charles' Holbropk, - Jackson county veterans service office. Holbrook, whose office is lo cated in the county courthouse, stressed the importance of mak ing immediate - application for certificates. Separation papers, or certificates, are required for filing for any important GI or Oregon state veterans benefits; he said. , : - v" Cost of obtaining certificates after Feb. 1 will be $1.50. Prineville Man on Washington XUPJ Robert T. Lister of Prineville, Ore., has been named to the Oregon State Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee, Rep. Sam Coon (R-Ore,) announced. Lister will fill a place on the committee which administers price and acreage programs in Oregon under the ; Commodity Stabilization Service. -The ap pointment was announced by the Department of Agriculture.
