Temple Names New Officers; Plan Parties Various orders of Knights of Pythias lodge have planned events for this week and Talis man temple, Pythian Sisters, has announced the names of new of ficers, 'who were elected Tues day evening. The new officers of the Pyth ian Sisters are Mrs. Margaret Davis, past chief; Mrs. George Thomas, most excellent chief; Mrs. Mildred Tolle, excellent senior; Miss Florence Bain, ex cellent junior; Mrs. Ed Bost wick, manager; Mrs. John Rus sell, secretary; Mrs. F. Murray, treasurer; Mrs. Audley wnite, potector; Mrs. Jams Cech, guard; Mrs. Ben Blachly, music ian; Mrs. George Bryant, press corresondent, and Mrs. Walter Cummings, trustee for a three year term. k Mrs. Davis presided for the meeting and the group's charter was draped to honor Mrs. Mabel Roberts, a past grand chief, who died recently. Pythian Sister club members will -elect officers on Tuesday, December 14. They plan a 6:30 p.m., dinner at the Girls .Com munity club and those members hot contacted are to take either salads or sandwiches. A gift ex change will be held and gifts should cost not more than 50 cents. The annual Christmas party and gift exchange for members of the Idella Rogue Santha) No mads of Avrudaka, will be held at the Pythian building Satur day, December 18, at 8 p.m. Election is also planned for the Wanderers club members when they meet at the home of Mrs. Margaret Davis, 1205 East Main street, Monday, December 13, at 8 p.m. A Christmas party and turkey dinner are on the program for a meeting of Past Chiefs club, Pythian Sisters, Wednesday, De cember 15, at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Delia Watkins, 19 Mistletoe street, will be the hostess at her home and a gift exchange will be held. Secret pals will be re vealed. Those wanting further information about the party should call telephone 3-5644. Pythian Sunshine Girls, Talis man Rosebud council, conferred an honorary mothers degree on Mrs. Eva Smith during a session of that group Thursday evening. Banra Miller presided in the ab sence of the royal princess, Glenna Felkel. Donna Walker was instructed in the mysteries of the council. With only six ingredients, it goes together in a hurry then bakes for 30 minutes, allowing you more time to help with the tinsel and lights. With it, set out hearty helpings of your best tossed salad, crssty bakery rolls, and a big carafe of coffee. For dessert, serve an assortment of your-own-made Christmas cookies or Christmas candies. What could be easier, or more fun ? TREE-TRIMMERS' CASSEROLE 4 ounces elbow spaghetti 1 cup shredded American cheese , , 1 cup flaked salmon 1 cups condensed cream of (8-ounce can) celery soup (10-ounce can) , Buttered bread crumbs, if cup milk desired Cook spaghetti in boiling salted water, until tender (about 7 minutes). Drain and rinse. While spaghetti is cooking, , combine soup, milk, cheese and salmon in 1 -quart casserole. Fold m spaghetti. Sprinkle with buttered crumbs. Bake in moderate oven (3o0 .) about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and garnish with parsley. Makes 4 servings. ' French Like Turkey, Chicken For Family Christmas Dinner By PRISCILLA BUCKLEY United Press Correspondent Paris (U.R) Early Christ mas eve, all of Paris begins to smell good -just like roast turkey. Lines form in front of bakeries and from the ovens, which 364 days a year make mile on mile of string-like loaves of bread, the baker will bring out roast turkeys ranging from the modest six and eight-pounders to the 24-pound king-size model. Most French homemakers find their ovens too small to bake a turkey, so they turn the job over to a baker, who charges from 70 to 200 francs 20 to 57 cents for the job. Not all French families will serve turkey. Chicken takes over in cases where the family is small, or finances are tight. Typical of the small family meal on Christmas will be that served by Madame Emile De spray, the concierge of the Villa Sucher, in a residential section of Paris. She will cook for six ' her husband, a postal clerk, their daughter, Madame Despray's mother, and her married sister and brother-in-law. Her only son is in the French army in Ger many and won't get home for Christmas. Altogether, . she figures the dinner plus the wines and cham pagnes traditional of the holiday will cost about $20. The menu she has planned: To start: hors d'ouevres sar dines, cold cuts, tomatoes, radishes, hard boiled eggs with mayonnaise, pate, and shredded celery all served with a bottle of good white wine. Next: a good fish. Mme. De spray says it will be a channel sole. Some oysters. More white wine. . . Then comes the roast chicken served with straw potatoes French fries cut thin. . "We won't have any vege table," said Madame Despray. "Just a touch of watercress for color. Because we will eat so much that Christmas night." A good bottle of burgundy will be opened with the chicken wine of a better quality than the "vin ordinaire" the Desprays drink the rest of the year. . Among the ; castoffs are Charles' sailboat which he has tired of floating on the lake at Buckingham Palace, and Anne's eld blue rabbit. None of Anne's dolls will be given away. She refuses to part with them, even though she often prefers to play with her brother's mechanical toys. ; - The discards will be repaired and repainted by the palace staff and sent' to the Great Ormond St. Hospital for Children in London. It is the hospital which Sir James M. Barrie loved so that he bequeathed it all royal ties from his play, "Peter Pan." No one at the hospital except the matron, who is sworn to secrecy, will know the source of sthe playthings. Queen Elizabeth II wants it that way. The Queen never lets the chil dren have too many toys at once, lest they grow spoiled.
