- 'J 1 v i -: 0 Extension Units Plan Meetings And Christmas Parties This Week Several extension units of Jhe county will study how to pre pare appetizing meals from canned, stored and frozen foods when they hold meetings this week. Annual Christmas parties also are being planned with gifts for members and preparation of Chris mas boxes for the less fortunate. The .Medford unit will hold the .December meeting at 10:30 a xa. "Wednesday, December 8, in the Community building on Priddy street. The project is "Appetizing Meals." Each mem ber is asked to take a gift not to "exceed fifty cents in value for the Christmas ex change. They are also to take table service, and the food will be -provided. Children will be eared for at the meeting. Eagle Point Eagle Point Ex tension unit will hold the De cember meeting at the home of Mrs. Edward Chamberlain, Brownsboro road, Thursday, De cember 9 at 10:30 a.m. Mrs. Mike Heekenberger and Mrs. Otto Nagel will have charge of the project lesson. They will demon strate "Appetizing Meals From Stored and Frozen Foods." Each member is asked to bring an article of food for a Christmas box instead of an exchange gift, a list of food which they have canned frozen or stored, and a small cook book. Child care will be at the home of Mrs. R. G. Mosby on South B street, Eagle Point. Medford Parents Home Exten son unit will meet at 7:30 p.m Tuesday, December 7, at the home of Mrs. A. F- Filatreau, 124 Vancouver avenue. Subject for the evening is "Appetizing Meals From Canned, Frozen, and Stored Foods." Project lead ers are Mrs. Arthur Hertager and Mrs. Ernest Lytle: . Each member is requested to take her favorite salad recipe. t There will be a Christmas gift exchange. Gifts can be of food or handwork, but must be hand made. The refreshment commit tee, Mrs. Russel Fowler, and Mrs. C. P. Smets, announce that it is not necessary to bring your own service to this meeting. , Reese Creek Reese Creek Extension unit will meet Tues day, December 7, at the home of Mrs. Ben Gardener. The project leaders, Mrs. ,Ben Gardener and Mrs. Kenneth Du f our, will serve luncheon in connection with the lesson on canned, frozen and stored foods. Members are to take lists of foods they have stored. ' Christmas gifts, to cost no more than 50 cents, will be ex changed. Visitors are welcome to at tend any unit meeting. A Christmas party will be held by Howard Extension unit Thursday, December 9, at Har mony hall, Friends church. The event is set for 10:30 a.m. and children will be cared for in the home of Mrs. Malcolm McCarty, 2618 Table Rock road. Willow Springs Home Exten sion unit will meet at 10:30 a. m. on Friday, December 10, at Wil low Springs Community club. The lesson on "appetizing meals from frozen and canned foods" will be given by Mrs. Harry Ellis and Mrs. Mainwaring. Luncheon will be served, and those attending are asked to take table service. There will be a Christmas exchange of hand made gifts. All women of the community are invited to at tend. - ' ; FUN-HONOR GROUP TO MEET THURSDAY Mrs. H. J. Six Sisters Hold Reunion Six sisters, daughters of the late- Mr. and ; Mrs. Frank L. Thompson, and their husbands met November 27 at the home of Horace W. Thompson, 3642 Hil singer road, for a reunion and to' celebrate the recent marriage of one of the sisters, Mrs. Ger trude Converse, to August P. Johnsen. Johnsen . when he formerly represented the Stand ard Oil company and lived in Medford.
