TWO MEPFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Snook-Ortega Ceremony Held In California Central Point Mis Terry Ortega, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ortega became the bride of Cpl. Kenneth Snook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph R. Snook of Central Point, in rites read . November 6 at Twentynine Palms, Calif. The ceremony was held at the home of Mrs. Gertrude Behanna and the rooms were decorated with bouquets of carnations and stock. A minister of the Apost olic church in Vaa Nuys offic iated. - ' The bride was given in marr iaee bv her father. Her floor- length gown was of silver lame and white nylon net and she wore a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses and bouvardia. Miss Ruenell Ortega, a sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a sky blue nylon floor length gown covered with match ing nylon net. Her bouquet was of pink rosebuds and delphin iums. Don Braham was best man. After the ceremonv a receD- tion was held at the home of the bride's parents and classmates of the bride were in charge of the reception. - Mr. and Mrs. Ralph R. Snook were unable to attend the wed ding. The newly wedded couple will live for the present at Twenty nine Palms where the bride groom is stationed with the Marine corps. Mrs. Snook plans to complete high school. Miss Saari Guest At Shower Party; Wedding Yesterday Shady Cove-Trail -Mrs. Ern est Segessenman and Miss Mary Segessenman of Shady Cove were hostesses for - a ' bridal shower at their home November 16 honoring Miss Deloris Saari, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. paavo Saari of Shady Cove. Her mar riage to Mervyn Charles Glea son II of Central Point was an event of November 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Medford. Miss Segessenman was one of the bridesmaids. Games, were played, with Mrs. Alvin Perkins - of Shady ' Cove, and Mrs. Lu Ellis Bodin of Cen tral Point winning prizes. . i . The Rev. Willis J. Loar of the Eastwood Baptist church performed the double-ring ceremony. About 200 guests attended. v " The bride is a daughter of Mr and Mrs. John E. Matheus, 424 Western avenue. The bride groom, a lieutenant in the United States Air Force, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd S. Timmons, route 2, box 207, Medford. He is a pilot. ' The ceremony was read at 2 o'clock in .the afternoon and the bride's sister, Mrs. George Chick was here from Inglewood, Calif., to be matron of honor. Leonard E. and Donald W. Matheus, brothers of the bride, Mr.. Chick and Jerry Lausmann were the ushers. . Mr. Matheus gave his daugh ter in marriage. Her dress was of pink lace oVer petal pink taf feta and was designed with fit ted bodice and a bouffant skirt. She wore a matching hat trim med with seed pearls and her shoulder length veil was . of nylon tulle. Her gloves were first worn by the bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs. John W. Tim mons, on the occasion of her 50th wedding anniversary. The bride's bouquet was of a white orchid and white elf rosebuds. Mrs. Chick wore a powder blue silk organza dress over taffeta and styled similarly to " the bride's gown. . Her hat was t ppers, Christmas! X Lay Away SI. Sunday, November 28. 1954 of matching fabric and her bou quet was of pink carnations. The candle lighters were Janice Matheus, a. niece of the bride, and Warren Chick, a nephew. The former wore a dress of white dotted nylon Swiss with pink sash. Her wristlet and headpiece were of pink rosebuds. Mrs. Robert DeArmond sang. The reception was held at the church rooms. Mrs. Chick played organ music during the reception and those assisting were Mrs. Ben Hitzler, who cut the cake,' ; Mrs. Joan LeCuyer, who served the cake,, and Mrs. Paul Culbertson, who poured punch. Mrs. Hitzler and Mrs Culbertson are aunts of the bridegroom. -Mrs. Leonard Matheus had charge of the guest book. Pink tapers and pink rosebuds furnished the table decorations. For. the occasion the bride's mother wore a mulberry lace dress with navy accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a powder blue faille with navy ac cessories. Both had corsages of pink carnations. . From out of town were Mr, and Mrs. Vincent Ritzinger of Happy Camp, Calif. The bride is a Medford Senior High school graduate. She is employed at Pick's apparel. The bridegroom is stationed with the Air Force . at Big Spring, Tex. He was also grad uated from Medford Senior High school and attended the Uni versity of Oregon and Univer sity of California at Davis. The couple made a wedding trip to Klamath Falls and Rocky Point resort. . Johnsons Visit At Dowson Home Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Johnson and Son, David, Palo Alto, Calif.; were holiday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dowson, 601 Kins street. Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Dowson are sisters. ! Also visiting at the Dowson home was Mrs. Dowson's son, Dick Pepper, a 1954 graduate of Medford Senior High school, who is now attending Stanford university. Mrs. Dowson is the former Mrs: Helen-Pepper, for merly of Grants. Pass and .Eu reka, Calif., and her wedding to Mr. Dowson took place recently. . Dinner Guests Dr. and Mrs. S. Ralph Dippel, 1 Eastwood drive, had as their dinner guests for Thanksgiving day Dr. Dippel's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Don Geren, and family, Eagle Point, and his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. S., Dippel, " and family, Grants Pass. V Leaves .'" I Mrs. Paul H. Ode left Satur day for San Francisco where she will meet her husband, En sign Ode, who is returning to the United States after duty in the Far East since May 1. Mrs. Ode has been in Medford since June with her fathef, L. D. Bragg, Route 1. Jacksonville Officers will be elected by members of the Adarel chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Thursday, Decem ber 2, at 8 p.m., in the Jackson- ville Masonic temple. Visitors are invited. - Crosby- Walton Ceremony : Held in Methodist Churjch ' First Methodist church was the scene Saturday, November 20, of the wedding of Miss Janet N. Walton and Blair D. Crosby. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Walton, 35 Cottage street, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Cros- Sergeant Weds English Bride; To Return Here Talent Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Lowe Jr. are living in Eng land near Norbrighton following their wedding at Warwick, Eng land, in June and a wedding trip to France, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. t The bride is the former Miss Joan Beryle Ray, daughter of Mrs. Gladys -Ray and the late Harry Ray. The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Mae Lowe and the late Harry H. Lowe. The bride is a graduate of the Warwick schools and served with the Royal Air Force during World War II. The bridegroom is a graduate of Talent High school and is a staff sergeant serving with the Air Force sta tioned in England. . The wedding took place June 26 at 11 o'clock in the morning at St. Mary's Collegiate church. The bride wore a white bro caded satin gown with a floor length veil held from a head piece of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of red carnations. Her matron of honor, Mrs. Pam ela Yalling, and her bridesmaid, Miss Joan Rush, wore gowns of satin in pastel shades of pink and blue. Their flowers were white carnations. The flower girl was Linda Elizabeth Ray, a niece of the bride. Attending the bridegroom was Duane Schneck, a staff sergeant with the 3029th air squadron. The bells of all the churches in the city rang during the morn ing until the ceremony took place. The couple will come to Amer ica in 1955. Give Dinner At the A. R. The newlyweds traveled to California for a wedding trip, and will live at 15V4 Genessee street, n. . The bride's wedding ;gown was of white satin fashioned princess style with skirt ending in a wide nylon tulle ruffle. Her veil was finger-tip length and she carried a white orchid en circled with white bouvardia. Miss Jean Runtz, honor at tendant, wore a gown of pale aquamarine taffeta, ballerina length. She carried yellow chry santhemums and wore a coronet of these blossoms on her hair. Bridesmatron was Mrs. William Herman Jr., and Miss Marilyn Biddle, San Francisco, was bridesmaid. Their frocks were of dusty rose nylon net over taf feta and they carried rose-colored chrysanthemums which matched the flowers in their coronets. . . The bride's mother was gown ed in blue lace and her flowers were pink rosebuds. The bride groom's mother wore a frock of Japanese silk and her flowers were also pink rosebuds. Mr. Walton gave his daughter in marriage, and Leonard John son, Ashland, wes best man. Seating the guests were Crocker Hunter Jr., William Herman Jr., and Wallace Cannon, Ashland. Dr. G. A. Dierdorff was soloist. The reception followed in the church parlor. Mrs. Norbert Krause, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Eldred Colver, cut the wedding cake. Mrs. Robert Wen ker and Mrs. Robert Beyers served punch. The bride, who attended Ore gon State college after gradua tion from Medford Senior High school, is a cashier for First Federal Savings and Loan asso ciation. The bridegroom, a grad uate of Ashland High school, is an adjuster . for Commercial Credit corporation. Preceding the wedding, the bride was honored at a number of parties. Mrs. John E. Myers gave a kitchen shower at her home, 4425 Hilsinger road, as sisted by Mrs. Eldred , Colver. Mrs. R. N. Beyers was hostess for a miscellaneous shower at her home, 311 South Holly street, and Miss Jean Runtz and her mother, Mrs. Frank J.
