(International Soundpfwto) Book Tells Why Political Bosses Made O'Dwyer Envoy To Mexico New York (U.R) Political bosses made former Mayor Wil liam O'Dwyer the U. S. Ambas sador to Mexico in 1950 to get him out of the country before a police bribery scandal broke around his head, two newspaper men said in a book published to day. The late Edward J. Flynn, Bronx Democratic leader, en gineered O'Dwyer's appointment because of the impending scan dal and because Flynn believed a special mayorality election was needed that fall to ensure the election of Sen. Herbert H. Leh man (D-N.Y.), the reporters said. O'Dwyer Dead Duck' In a book entitled "The Big Fix," published by Henry Holt and Co., Norton Mockridge and Robert H Frail said Flynn de cided that O'Dwyer was "a dead duck politically" and that if he vacated the mayor's chair . the ensuing special election would bring out a heavy Democratic vote in the city and consequent ly the heavy vote needed by Lehman. Mockridge and PralL staff writers for the New York World- Telegram and Sun, a Scripps- Howard newspaper, said that "one hot afternoon in July" of that year, Flynn boarded . a plane, went to Washington, and called on President Harry S. Don't think of going steady yet and don't ex pect him to do so either. You are too young to consider mar riage. This is the time for you to get to know many boys and to discover what you like and do not like in them. You should not be jealous if . this boy flirts with other girls. Flirting on the part of a teen ager boy is not serious. He is merely trying to make the girls pay attention to him and thus make himself feel like a real Romeo. Show Popularity As for you. you should do the same thing in a subtle way, of cqurse. Try to attract many boys to you and show your friend that you can be as popular as he is. This may result in making him jealous, just as he makes you jealous by the same tactics. , If he doesn't pay attention to you when you see him, give him the cold shoulder. Then, when he wants to show you he loves you, be a bit cold and aloof. Let him know that you will not stand for his changeable behav ior.
