The one before me now defines love as "affection for another person, especially one of the op posite sex." I can't hand that definition much. Your Corner Shoe Store Main and Central Emergency March Of Dimes Campaign Grosses $7,808.21 The Jackson county Emer gency March of Dimes cam paign, conducted during the last two weeks of August, grossed $7,808.21, according to J. D. Montieth, campaign treasurer. Expanses amounted to $509.93, leaving a net balance of $7, 298.28, Montieth said. Of the net amount, $2,432.76 was retained by the focal chapter, a similar amount was sent to the polio prevention program of the Na tional Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, and a corresponding amount was sent to the national headquarters of the National Foundation. The emergency campaign in the county was sponsored by the Medford Active club with Al Bradford as chairman. Breakdown of Donations Following is a breakdown of contributions, through mail con tributions, coin collectors and special events, as compiled by Montieth: Medford $5,280.31, Jackson ville $93.13, Central Point $193.93, Ashland $680.26, Shady Cove-Trail, $78.83. Camo White $25.90, Talent $40, Phoenix $53.13, Gold Hill $40, Eagle Point $54, Rogue River $96.50, Butte Falls $5, Prospect $1,144.22 and Applegate $22.98. Montieth emphasized that credit was given according to postmarks on envelopes and does not necessarily represent a true picture of contributions ac cording to towns.
