It Is said that if tips were elim inated, it would be Impossible in New York City to get a first class waiter for a first class res taurant for less than S130 week. With tips, many of the waiters in top grade restaurants earn as high as $200 a week. In some establishments the waiters nm more than the caotains and headwaiters. It is my belief that well-trained, skillfull inteW gent waiter is worth at least $190. How much of this should be paid in salary, and how much in tips, is a matter of opinion.
