Dr. D, Kirkland West, pastor, will talk on one of "Life's Great est Questions." Special music will be a solo, "How Beautiful upon the Mountain," by Mrs. Fred H. Graten. Art Sueltz will preach at the 7:30 p.m. service on "Lord Remember Me." Special Ltad.ri John Reynolds and Miss Ber nadine Thompson, Berkeley, Calif., will visit the junior and senior high fellowships at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Reynolds will lead the senior group and Mis3 Thompson the junior group. . The junior high Sunday school department will hold a "Chicken and Bean" dinner at the farm of Dr. and Mrs." Bert Elliott. Winners in a department contest will eat chicken and the losers will have beans. Mrs. Wil liam Farrell is in charge. The senior high fellowship group will have a potluck din ner and social hour Friday at the Elliott farm. Harshman will be held on Wednesday, July 23, at First Methodist church. It will start at 8 pjn. in the church parlors. Members and friends of the church are invited. Mr. Harshman recently was appointed pastor of the Medford church. The Harshman's came here from Ellensburg, Wash. Mrs. Harshman has been active in the Women's Society of Christian Service. Members of the WSCS are in charge of the reception. It was announced that Sunday school sponsored by the Metho-' dist church at the Lone Pine school has been discontinued un til August 31. Dr. West Will Be Craler Lake Speaker Dr.. D, Kirkland West, pastor of the First Presbyterian church here, will speak Sunday at the Protestant vesper service at Crater Lake National park. The service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dr. West's topic will be "Help from the Hills." There reportedly have been many visitors at the services at the lake. National Ro tana Meeting Opens in Medf drd Today Rotana, national classified service club for women, opened the annual national convention in Medford this afternoon. About 100 members are expected to attend the convention, which has head quarters in the Jackson hotel. The Medford and Grants Pass clubs are joint hostess groups. Members of the national board gathered at the hotel at 1 p.m. today for luncheon, and general registration is set from 4 to 7 p.m. in the lobby. Tonight a carnival and fun night will be held in :VFW hall, Grants Pass. Top Score Taken By Men Players T. J. Fuson and Al Gilhousen held high score' for the weekly session of Medford Duplicate Bridge club Tuesday night at the Medford hotel. The pair earned a total of 64 points for the game. In second place were Mrs. B. L, Sanderson and her partner, Paul Hatton, with 62 points, and Mrs. Jean Hall and Harry Tanzer were third with 61 points. In fourth place were Mrs. George Codding and Mr.. Sander son with-601-4 points, and fifth went to Mrs. Frank Baker and Mrs. A. F. Stennett for 58 points. Mrs. W. W. Stevenson and Jack Barr took sixth with 55 points. 4 Honor Guest at Party Mrs. Emma Burge entertained at a birthday party which hon ored her small great-granddaugh ter, Susie Scoggins, who was three years old. The child is vis iting here from Oakland, Calif. Games were played and Mrs. Bob Canty and Mrs. Mack Grif fin assisted Mrs. Burge in serving refreshments. Guests were Mickey Canty, Jamie and Laura Jane Griffin, Tokey Jones, Sidney Mae Con don, Cindy Toppman, Barney Scoggins and Susie Scoggins, the honored guest. 4 Annual Picnic The annual Pennsylvania pic nic is set for 1:30 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at Lithia park, Ashland. Those attending are to bring covered dish and their own service. All former residents on Pennsylvania are invited. , Jacksonville Lodge Honors Two Members At Dinner and Party Jacksonville Jacksonville Royal Neighbors .honored two members at a dinner held July 15. Mrs. Vance Adams was given a shower of layette gifts, and Mrs. Job Berriman, oracle, was presented a piece of luggage. Mrs. Berriman will leave in the late summer to spend three months in England. "Thirty-four members enjoyed the social evening. -t Returns . Mrs. Don Stansell, 202 South Orange street, has returned home after a month's vacation spent in Hawaii. She was accompanied by her sister, Miss Margaret Simp son, Lakeview,; Ore. The two made the trip over on the President Cleveland, and returned by United Airlines. Picnic Held Tuesday Circle 9 of First Methodist church held a picnic Tuesday at the home of Miss Eva Van Aus dall. A business meeting took place after the picnic with Mrs. H. R. Walker presiding. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. fid Hild on Wag ner Creek road were Mrs. Hild's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Maxcy of Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. Hild returned with them and spent a week with relatives in Pomona, Calif. Mrs. Hild's mother, Mrs. De lilah Maxcy, accompanied her home for a two months' visit.
