Miss Mary Ann Brill Honor Guest at Party; Wedding Held Saturday Shady Cove-Trail Mrs. Ran ald Axtell, Trail, and Mrs. Ray Briggs. .Shady Cove, were host esses Monday for a bridal show er which honored Miss Mary Ann Brill. The party was given at Folding Hills ranch, the Ax tell home. The marriage of Miss Brill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Brill, Trail, to Robert Edminster of Merced, Calif., was set for Saturday evening at First Pres byterian church, Medford. The centerpiece decoration for the table was a bride and bride groom cake made by Mrs. Frank Dolenshek, Trail, and a hand made lace tablecloth was loan ed for the occasion by Mrs. Carl Richardson, Trail. Games were played with prize for high score being won by Mrs. Walter Young, Eagle Point Guests were Mesdames Scott Brill, mother of the bride; Nor man Smedes Jr., Ralph Rein ning, Harold Barber, Frank Do lenshek, J. H. Mallery, Lee Mer- riman, Wilmer Ragsdale, Ralph Watson, Dean Tate, Bob Cham berlain, Wyles Berry, Allen Rodgers all of Trail; Glenn Nel son, Ashland; Wallace .Brill James K. (Brainerd photo). First Baptist Church Scene Of Phillips-Darby Ceremony Miss June Maureen Darby became the bride of Fred Darell Phillips in a double-ring candlelight ceremony performed by the Rev. W. A. Dawes at First Baptist church June 29. Baskets of pink and white stock, arranged with fern, decorated the church. Three hundred guests attended. Annua! Session National Rotana To Be Held Here Rotana club, classified service club for women in business and the professions, will hold the annual convention in Medford next week-end. The sessions open July 18 and will close July 20, with headquarters at the Jackson hotel. Miss Helen McQuarrie, Boze man, Mont., is national presi dent of the organization. She will arrive in Medford Thursday to aid local officers with last minute convention plans. Saturday night a banquet will be held in the Pioneer room of the Jackson hotel, and the con vention will close Sunday noon with a party at Mon Desir inn near Central Point. Outdoor Meeting Planned by Club Mrs. Florence Lance will con duct her first meeting as new president of Medford Business and Professional Women's club when the group meets for a pic nic in TouVelle park at 6 o'clock LThursday, July 17. Each member is asked to take one special dish, bread and but ter or sandwiches, if desired, and table service for herself and guest. Ice cream and coffee will be provided by the club. "The Ramparts We Build" is to be this year's BPW club theme, and Miss Dana Platz, pro gram co-ordinator, has stated that the program for the year will be outlined at the August meeting, after program chair men are consulted. Mrs. Wayne Barnhouse and son, Danny, of Great Falls, Mont., are in Medford as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Landis, 1133 Dakota avenue, son-in-law and daughter of Mrs. Barnhouse. The afternoon wedding took place on the 28th wedding anni versary of the bridegroom's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Phillips, 1597 South Peach street. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs, Scott Darby, 1140 Sweet road. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin trimmed in lace and fashioned with a train. Her veil was finger-tip length, and she carried a bouquet of light pink gladiolus. Miss Lois Zimmers, maid of honor, wore a yellow gown Miss Janet Coyle and Miss Marie Pierce, bridesmaids, were gowned in blue and pink. All carried white daisies and pink carnations. Don Chapman acted as best man lor the bridegroom, ana ushers were Dick Phillips, Gor don Conrad, Milton Hanson, Forest Jackson, and Kenton Ad ams. Susan Diane Fraley, niece of the bride, was flower girl She wore a dress of green organdy and carried a basket of rose petals. Candle lighters were Miss Sharon Fraley and Miss Loretta Darby. Music for the ceremony was furnished by J. Robert Cochran, who sang. Accompanying him was Mrs. Ted Graham, who also played several organ selections. About 200 guests were pres ent at the reception which took place at the church after the wedding. Mrs. Dick Fraley cut the cake and Miss Margaret Hu- son and Miss Marie Laird served punch. In charge of the guest book was Mrs. Jack Phillips. The couple are now living on Oak Grove road after a wedding trip to Gold Beach and other points along the Oregon coast. Both are graduates of Medford High school, and the bridegroom is employed by California-Ore gon Power company. Luncheon Announced For Gleaners' Class The Gleaners' class of First Baptist church will have a pot- luck luncheon at 12 noon Wednesday, July 16, at the home of Mrs. Ethel Van Cleaves. Couple Celebrates 25th Anniversary; Honored at Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Harold Suther land, 2381 Howard avenue, cele brated their silver wedding an niversary July 2. Mrs. Sutherland's parents, Mr and Mrs. A. C. Sutherland, hon ored the couple at a dinner given at their home. 1705 West Main street. Other guests at the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. H, W. Welburn and son, Burle. The honored couple were mar ried in Medford July 2, 1927, by the Rev. E. P. Lawrence, min ister of First Presbyterian church. The Rev. Mr. Lawrence had also married the elder Suth erlands, performing that cere mony in Minot, S. D., in 1908 where the families of the couple and the minister all lived at that time. Two Guests Honored At Party Wednesday Mrs. E. L. McGraw, 300 Stew art, avenue, was hostess at a shower given Wednesday, July 9, honoring Mrs. Keith Walker, Medford and Mrs. Shirley Roy Kelly, Central Point. Gifts were presented to the honored guests on a table deco rated with storks and pale yel low and green ribbon. Other decorations for the shower were also in pale yellow and green. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Roy Kelly and the hostess. Attending the shower were Mrs. Alice Hood, Mrs. Roy Kel ly, Mrs. Melford Hood, Mrs. W. R. Walker, Mrs. Richard Frost. Mrs. Harry Dubbs, Miss Jac queline Walker, Mrs. Lloyal Mc Cay, Mrs. Kenneth Hood, Mrs. Charles Culy, Miss Debra Kelly, the guests of honor and the hostess. The husbands of Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Kelly are both serving with the U. S. Navy and are now stationed aboard ships in Korean waters. John W. Corder, United States Army. The evening cere mony was read by the Rev Hardwick Harshamn. '. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lucero, Central Point, and the bride groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Corder, live in Parma, Ida. Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride wore a white net and appliqued lace, ballerina length gown. A seed pearl crown held her short net veil, and her flowers were red roses on a Bi ble. The maid of honor, Miss Carol Rector, wore a pale green ankle length dress with a headband of yellow and white flowers and a nosegay to match. Bridesmaids Miss Patty Perry and Miss Anise Hobbs wore costumes similar to that of the maid of honor, and carried yellow and white nose gays. George Arnold was best man at the wedding, and ushers were Norman Abbot, brother in law of the bridegroom, Parma, Ida., and John Heberling and Peter Thompson. Mrs. Charles R. Adamson furnished organ mu sic for the ceremony. About 50 guests attended the reception at the bride's home fol lowing the wedding. The moth er of the bride cut the cake and Mrs. Mel Adams, Central Point, poured. Mrs. Norman Abbott, Parma, sister of the bridegroom, attended the guest book. Sunday. The bride attends Crater High school, and the bridegroom went to high school in Parma before ported for duty in the Army and joining the Army, Central Point Gardeners Hold Luncheon Meeting At Sutherland Home Central Point Members of the Central Point Garden club enjoyed a picnic luncheon at the home of Mrs. W. I. Sutherland Wednesday, with Mrs. Clem Ault, Mrs. Don Bohnert and Mrs. Edward Jones assisting the hostess. The table featured an arrangement - of vegetables, made by Mrs. James Cornutt. Guests were Mrs. Glenn Downing and Mrs. Jerry Jerome. Mrs. Bohnert reported on the robin for the bird-of-the-month. Announcements included the lily parade at Brookings on July 13. Prizes were received by Mrs. Don Patterson and Mrs. Lloyd Seymour while Mrs. Cor nutt received the corsage of the month. Names were drawn for "plant pals."
