Miss Sehorn, of the Columbia Athletic club, toppled a record that had stood for 10 years by covering the distance In the Jantzen pool in 2:57.2. The old record of 2:58.1 was set by Ann Govcdnlck of MInne tola at Coral Gables, Fla., in De cember, 1933. Her time had never been bettered until Miss Sehorn accomplished the feat while swimming the 220-yard event. Her time for the full dis tance was just 1.2 seconds off the American record.
