Milner, 117 Crater Lake avenue, returned Tuesday from Colorado Springs, Colo., where they were called by the death of Milner's mother. They were away about a week. Traffic Accident Richard A. 'I Greer, 921 Alta street, and Clar- I ence B. McRae, 621 Cherry street, were drivers of cars which collided at the intersec tion of Eighth and South Holly streets at about 9:50 a.m. yester- dav, according to city police. Some damage to both vehicles was reported. There were no in juries or citations. To Centralia Harvey Buck ner, 1427 Orchard Home drive, will leave Saturday for Centra lia, Wash., to attend a wedding anniversary celebration for his sister. Surgery Patients Mrs. Rob ert Hilgers, 2737 Howard ave nue, underwent emergency ap pendectomy last evening at Os teopathic hospital, attendants said today. Jack W. Lewis, 136 Highland drive, is convalescing at Sacred Heart hospital from surgery, attendants there said today. Has Surgery Clifford (Chief) McLean, athletic coach in the Medford school system, under went surgery this week to clear up an old shoulder injury. He is expected to be in the hospital another week. McLean reported ly suffered a "recurring disloca tion as the result of a baseball mishap about 12 years ago. ' Car Damaged Mrs. Edith L. Cummings, 2825 C u m m 1 n g s road, has reported that her car was struck in a hit and run acci dent while parked near the in tersection of Riverside avenue and Jackson street yesterday afternoon, city police stated. Sandra Lee Elliott, 7, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Elliott, 1608 Crown ave nue, and Janet McCauley, 6, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith McCauley, Eagle Point, under went tonsillectomies today at the same hospital. School Planning The plan ning committee for the Fall Regional-Conference of Teachers in Medford met last night in the office of the county school su perintendent. Jackson and Jose phine county administrators and teachers drafted plans in what was the final meeting before the opening of schools in September, according to School Superinten dent Alf Mekvold. Farmers Picnic Annual elec tion of officers will be held by Jackson County Farm bureau members when they meet for a picnic with their families Sun day, June 15 at 1 p.m. in Tou Velle park. Several farm bu reau officials from out of town will attend, Including the guest speaker from Siskiyou county, Calif., and a representative from the state office at Salem. Arthur Schoeni, formerly of Medford, is enroute to Japan and Korea on an observation assign ment by the Navy, according to word received from him Thurs day by his aunt, Mrs. Lucy Ly man, 235 South Ivy street. Schoeni,. former Medford news paper man, was journalism teacher at Medford high school before accepting a position with the United Press before the war, During the war he joined the Navy in which he has risen to the rank of lieutenant command. er.
