A. Brockway, Stewart avenue. The club was installed and a charter received at a meet ing May 17, 1951 at the home of Mrs, A. Bradshaw. Since then the fast-growing club has received new members at every meeting but one, and three new members were taken into the group at the anniversary meeting. A birthday cake was served at the anniversary meeting, and the club voted to assist with the Haven fund, a national project of the organization. The meeting ended with a tour of the Brockway gardens, and each member was present ed flowers. Mrs. H. G. Wilson, president, conducted the meeting and Mrs. M. S. Mallory acted as secretary in the absence of Mrs. May Den man, in Eugene to visit a new grandson. 1 Club Year Ends For Lady Lions Medford Lady Lions held the last meeting of their club year June 3 at the home of Mrs. Ken neth Campbell, 520 Dakota av enue. Hostesses were Mrs. Arch ie Fries, Mrs. Ed Prlngle and Mrs. Tom Flynn. Installation of officers will be held jointly with Medford Lions club June 26 at the Jackson ho tel. A potluck dinner was plan ned for auxiliary members and their husbands July 11 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Campbell. Officers were presented gifts by the president, Mrs. James Campbell, They are Mrs. Elwood Hedberg, secretary; Mrs. Ed Prlngle, treasurer; Mrs. Alva Perkins, historian: Mrs. Frank English, parliamentarian. Name New Officers For Past Matrons Past matrons of Reames chap ter. Order of Eastern Star, held a luncheon meeting June 2 at the Medford hotel, with 21 in attendance. Mrs. Ira Canfield, president, conducted the meet ing which followed luncheon. Officers for the coming year were elected and installed. Mrs. Fred Purdin was installed pres. ident; Mrs. John C. Smith, vice- president and Mrs. Ralph Wood ford, secretary-treasurer. Minnesota Club Has Annual Picnic H. R. Walker, Medford was elected president of the Minne sota club at the annual picnic of former residents of that state held Sunday at TouVelle park. Carl Fichtner was named vice president, Frank Morgan, secre tary and treasurer and Ed G. Paschke, registrar. All are from Medford. The picnic was well attended. Games and entertainment fol lowed a covered dish dinner. Alf Mekvold, superin tendent of Jackson county schools, addressed the group on the "Place of the Parent-Teacher Association in he Community, During the business meeting it was announced that a two weeks orientation class will be held at the Prospect school for those children who will be entering school for the first time this fall The class will commence August 18 and Mrs. Ruby Brown will be the teacher in charge. Pins were presented to the re tiring officers of the organiza tion whoVere present, and new officers for the coming year were installed by Mrs. Frances I. Pearson. Installed were Mrs. George Hubbard, president; Mrs. Irma Beddingfield, vlce-prest dent; Mrs. Lou Rogers, secretary: Mrs. Donald Vaughn .treasurer. Corsages were presented to the new officers and Mrs. Pearson Mrs. Hubbard announced the executive board for the coming year. The members are Mrs George Brown, room represen tative; Mrs. Frank Boothby, spir itual and character education: Mrs. Louis Biden, summer round-up; Mrs. William Schultz, ways and means; Mrs. Donald Vaughn, hospitality; Mrs. John Bailey, membership; Mrs. Irma Beddingfield, study and pro gram; Mrs. Calvin Clayton, pub licity; Mrs. James Clevenberg, magazine; Mrs. Bruce Pingle, Founder's Day; Mrs. Emory Nye, Juvenile ;and Mrs. Leo Hoag, legislation. Refreshments were served by the men of the organization in the home economics room. Grants Pass Club Plans Annual Show Saturday at School Grants Pass The seventh annual rose and flower show of the Grants Pass Men's Garden club is set for Saturday, June 7 in the high school library. Hours are from 1 to 10 p. m. The club is affiliated with the Men's Garden clubs of America, and is a member of the American Rose society. Six divisions have been set up for exhibitors, including advanc ed, beginners', juniors, decora tive arrangements, organized club display and special classes. Trophies are being offered. Marvin W. Clark and Ernest E. Vehrs are co-chairmen for the show. Amateur rose growers are in vited to enter the show, and the public Is invited to view the exhibits. 1.
